Thread: Knockdown nerf to go with this AM's hotfix?

Out punching stuff in the face this afternoon. Knockdown is landing about 60% of the time (having killed about 200-250 critters) where prior to today it was in the 99.9% range.


Guess that comes off my quickbar too (along with dizzy, and advanced combo) since I used to use it once every fight right at the end. Usually, the critter stays down long enough for me to get in 1 AChit andKD + AC (200ish dmg from KD + 600 from AC) for the killing blow. That was when lag didn't make the mob jsut pop right tf back up again..... but no more. I can't afford the lost DPS wondering if KD is going to land.


2x melee strike is about = 700 dmg


KD + AC WAS about = 1100 dmg


but now if I miss the KD I get wasted action and lose 350 dmg from the melee strike I would have used. with 60% landing why bother.


Auto attack -> Melee strike 100% of the time it is! GOGO BRAWLER LINE!


Keep nerfing us. go on.

Combo does a good deal more damage than either Melee Hit or Melee Strike, and I imagine more than Melee Assault from MBrawler. The attack lands 3 hits on your target. There's a bug in that the combat log only records the first hit. If you turn on verbose combat logging you can do the math by taking the possible hit and subtracting the damage absorbed by the target's armor. This will leave you with the actual amount of damage you applied to the target. Or for a rough and dirty number, just multiply the recorded hit by 3.

Also, I love it when people start screaming about a stealth nerf. RARELY, does SOE stealth nerf something anymore. Not saying it doesn't happen, but usually what we call a stealth nerf is a fix that they've forgotten to include in the patch notes. In those cases several people pick up on it. If you're the only person who's noticed this, chances are, something else is the cause.

I'm familiar with advanced combo and its bug, and I've also posted that given the 6 second attack speed of AC, and the 3 second attack speed of MS, 3d grade math skills willshow you that MS isfar more SACefficient.The TKM skillboxes are devoid of any useful attack.


That's not the post topic, however. I'm posting that my KD is resisted about 33% more now. I have 3 tkms and have played the class for over a year. So, I'm not an expert but I have been playing the class long enough to know when something changes.

If you want to do the most damage get a -SAC pup for your weapon (assuming you not using fists) and alternate between combo and melee (whatever). Whichever attack you do, the cooldown on the other one finishes first, so if you alternate back and forth you do more damage faster then just looping one of them.


Edit: or, if you're using the basic melee hit you sometimes get in two hits then a combo and repeat that.

hows kd working in pvp now? if its not as effective, im goign to cry.
