Thread: What goes well with TKA master?

As I beat down a Creature Handler Camp amid a pile of tamed gurrcats and their owners, I took time to think about my long range goals with my TKA master. Loading up the char builder on on Alakhazam, it occurs to me that I have a LOT of options, particularly if I don't master brawler. Does anyone here know any particularly nasty synergy? I have thought of mastering Brawler and then going with Fence/Sword/Pike or what about Doctor? Or commando? Combat medic can't be mastered or it would be ideal. Anyone willing to share what they augment their TKA master with?

Well, I am not sure what the best strategy is as it really depends upon your play style. However, I would not recommend Chef.

But seriously, what do you like to do? If you want to be a strong PvE player you can't get much better than Master CH. If you are looking for a ranged combo I think many will agree that pistoleer/smugler pistol line is a great combo. I personally am shooting for the defense line in pikeman (also has area KD2) along with master carbine. I can will thus avoid the kiting problem. KD with carbine from 50 meters (with an AR2 weapon) then stack some leg bleeds while I run in fo the kill. Pikeman defense wil be useful for aggro critter groups as I will be able to land an area KD followed by a couple of UA spin attacks.

Two problems with this strategy (that I can see)

1.) I have to balance my stats to allow me to use both carbine (high action drain) and TKA (high mind drain)
2.) By the time I get to my opponent (whether the critter runs to me or I to my target) I will have used some high HAM cost carbine moves. IfI combine this with a Pikeman area KD I will be ready to stim.

Here is a snipet of whyI enjoy this combination:

I was running on Tatooine the other night and came upon a group of about 6-7 jawas (These were not the std. wimpy Jawas, although they were far from difficult) I attacked the Jawa Warlord with a UA2, then when all the melee jawas nearby got on meI finished them with two UA spin attacks. With 5 dead jawas on the ground around me I used my "switching to guns" macro (equips my lazer carbine and switches to the hotkeys for my carbine skills), targeted and fired. The two remaining ranged jawaswere dispatched with two quick burst shots.I was amazed at how quick it all happend. Now I know jawas are pretty wimpy, but, as I progress up both lines there is no reason whyI could not do the same with a group of Tuskens of Allakaras.

Well, there is Master commando/Master tka/medic, Master tka/Master pistoleer/smuggler dirty fighting/medic, Master tka/Master combat medic, Master tka/Master rifleman/medic, Master tka/Master ch/medic, Master tka/Master brawler/medic and the ever lovable, Master tka/Master Doctor. You could also go master tka/master brawler and some doctor i believe, but on my server not many people sell the advanced medical supplies, so you have to make them heh.

I am a doctor myself and it is great in combination with a melee profession. You can heal others when they are poisoned/disease/whatever (of course, you won't need this being a tka heh). The buffs really help a lot and combined with power boost, you are going to have really high stats. The great thing is that once you have a good supply of buffs, you can throw all of your stat points into mind stats (since you can just enhance your other stats) and this will make your power boost insanely high even without entertainer buffs (i have 1100 now and that would be a power boost of 550 if i was a tka. you can add in a dancer buff to make that 2200 and then get a whopping 1100 power boost lol).
