TKA should be an unarmed fighter UNARMED end of story

that is why as soon as I got power techs 4 and didn't need to rely on a piece of junk VK I dropped them like the garbage they are

I really wish they would make TKM truely unarmed

Eh...it's not like if Jedi can use some kind of Force Lightning, oh wait...nm. Curing wounds, diseases, poisons just with the power of the will isn't really mystical, I do it everyday...but wait...why only tka can do it?
Yeah, some kind of "Chi" is really goofy, that's why so much martial arts mention it.

You can search on "History of the Teräs Käsi" on this forum to have an idea of why I call it mystical and why "Chi-like" abilities may have some senses.

That is mind over matter. That is represented in most forms of asian martial arts. I have never seen where Tks projected elements from their bodies. If you read the history you would see why Jedi are able to use force lightning and Tks cant... Jedi draw from the force of the universe around them giving them abilities beyond those of others... Tks draw on the inner force. That means we can over come the effects of outside forces on our bodies. Kinda like the Shaolin Monks in RL... we dont fear reaching into a raging fire because we can mentally block out the pain and wounding of the flames. Or the Indian holy men that walk over sharp objects or hot coals. It is not the same as projecting the element it is just conditioning. Also if projectiong the element was so great why did the Jedi create lightsabers?? Jedi should ALWAYS be able to out do Tk. Tk took on the role of guardians, hence they can drain out the wounds and boost their abilities, Jedi took on a much broader role and have developed as such. If you want to be able to use force lighting be a jedi and fight unarmed. Tks are not meant for such things.

All these books you guys seem to be taking quotes from sound interesting. What are they ive never seen them before.. maybe a good read

But why not just lower the ham cost allot for fighting unarmed?

like ham cost could be like 5/10/7 or something.....

Then tkas could spam specials, but not do as much damage, so it would be a tactical choice to have VKs or not....

Currently it is needed!

Teras Kasi means Steel Hands, so to shatter your bones isn't really a point.
HAM cost isn't really a good help, it's too easy to have 0 HAM costs.
What I don't get is why a "mystical" martial art which means steel hands bother with thoses kinds of "unarmed weapons". Just give abilities in tka tree (energy or flames wich flows from the body, wich can work like berserk or powerboost, just throwing an idea). Why don't put it in precision striking instead of ham specific attack (no more jaleous melee and good abilities for a true unarmed profession, doesn't it sound good?)

Romans used Cestus spiked gloves that looked similar to the gloves many shoot-fighters wear now except shoot-fighters dont get the spikes. There were several Asian variartions of "Unarmed" weapons. Everything from claws, ala Shedder from the Ninja Turtles, to small blades placed on the tips of your fingers. The term Unarmed merely meant that you were not carrying a piece of arament. No soldier in those time would ever have considered those items true weapons. Arms were swords knives, spears and axes. Therefore Unarmed meant these unique items.

So should we have VKs or Cestus style weapons YES it was how Unarmed was actually used in this worlds history and makes sense and is also true to the EU stuff. Should we get other ninja style weapons, NO. Those belong to there respective classes. Swordsmen already have a Katana like weapon, the curved sword. If they do introduce other ninja influenced weapons they need to go to classes that are appropriate. Fencer, Pikemen, and Swordsman.
