Thread: Mastered Teras Kasi. I'm still so incredibly weak.

What happened to the days when a master Teras Kasi was something to be sacred of? Now, all that folks have to do is run in circles around us while we're kited helplessly doing our ONE damage type, while commandos and BH's can freely switch between damage types to destroy us.

Perhaps I'm playing my TKA all wrong, because I certainly do crap for damage compared to what things used to be. How should I play my TKA to live up to its name of one of 'the most feared melee combatants in the galaxy?"

I'm thinking of dropping this profession entirely and taking up something else.

Well some potentially good news is there is supposedly another weapon in the works for TK. Hopefully it will not be kinetic damage as usually most of the pvpers have a suit of 80% kinetic comp ready to use as soon as they know they are up against a TK. If you want to pvp solo then I would suggest using a complimenting profession if you have the points to do so. Most true pvpers have points to use effectively to master a couple professions. If you are the crafting occasional pvper then well you will be in the same boat as me where you need to have other complimenting professions to fight with and use the best of your abilities as a group instead of solo.

The good thing for me is I am a Master Armorsmith so I can make all my own armor which is an advantage.. the bad thing is I don't really have enough points to master another complimenting profession, so I picked up master brawler to extend my range to a 20 meter kd. If you are not having fun with TKM I would suggest trying something else out but most of the x-TKMs I have talked to miss it. Good luck with your decision!

Mainly the reason BH and Commando are a bit better at that is becuase they spend a HUGE amt more in skill points ( like 40 to 60 more points)

You just need a really good VK, and lots of KD and dizzy on people, try head hit as well it works pretty well

"most feared melee combatants in the galaxy?"

As in once you have someone within melee range your feared, fact is though that anyone with half a brain and a ranged weapon can kite you. Melee professions when it comes to dealing with ranged players are at a huge disatvantage so in other words if you want to actively take part in the GCW against other players you need ranged skills as melee simply doesn't cut it.

When I became tkm i sort of felt the same way
Now I do not, it’s one thing to reach master but another to master the profession, go to dathmir and try your new skills

on night sisters, you’ll get the hang of it for sure, if you meet any 100% kinetic resistant then you have two choices,

1) run no worries there

2) get your self a dot and tank with a COB macro and re-inflicted the dot over and over again till they die

It does work you can do it if you think it through, a good compliment to tkm is master brawler the extended lunge dizzy

works very well if it holds if not run after then.

I found there is more to being a tkm than the normal formula of getting master then winning with 3 head shots or less?

using a dizzy knockdown on a night sister or a Krayt is a very very useful skill.

I don’t think we need a new weapon anymore but it would be nice to get one all the dev’s have to do is make every

creature that is 100% kinetic resistant less kinetic resistant. This does not make it easier but doable try killing

an elder with a blast hammer when they are 25% ( I think ) resistant takes about 20 min and if you don’t pay attention

you are fast dead

Commandoes destroy you? I doubt that. The only way for a Commando to really damage you is to get within 16 m and use specials. That's melee range (if you have Master Brawler).

Most any other ranged proffession I'll believe.

It actually really easy to fix the problem of kiters.

/follow

you will be fine. keep your camera controlled to watch your surroundings, a good sharp turn around a corner will strand you behind a wall. be ready to side step.

also, burst run is crucial. it will allow you to keep up with the faster runners in the game.

use your lunge attacks, causes them to drop to kneeling, move in, hit em with a dizzy, then a dizzy kd. even if it doesn't knock them down, or dizzy them, you'll hit before they posture change in most cases.

Use your head hits, your intimidates, and warcries.

DONT SPAM. keep those status effects coming. blind, stun, intimidate, warcry, dizzy, and lunge till you have them vulnerable, hit your head hit 2-3 times, but be ready to change gears as they recover.

a buffed tka in armor can outlast the worst damage and effects they can send your way. I can say this as a wookiee, whose armor doesn't protect against fire/heat damage, or stun. learn your tactics, they will serve you well.

Lots of decent feedback on different tactics. What I want to know now is the absolute BEST type of armor for a TK should be, and where should I set my stats for migration? I am a master doc, so I can buff myself, so I figure that an extremely good set of Ubese for the kinetic would be ideal, and setting my health and action and everything else to 400 and boosting my mind/willpower/focus would be the best bet.

Anyone else have any other nifty suggestions?

Mind, Con, Stam and Will should be at your chars max.

Str/Quickness can be at their minimum, since you are a master doc, as long as your buffs are taking these up over 1400, you are fine.

Focus should be at least 400, more if possible.

the rest of your points into health and action.

Armor depends on your game style.

for pvp...comp with high stun, kin, energy, blast, acid, etc is necessary. kiss your creds good bye. always wear a full set, and untill armor holes are fixed, be prepared for long battles without vks, since you don't wanna leave an opportunity for a hit to get thru without being picked up by your armor

Pve, Ubese is great.

PSG's are incredibly handy, use the Imperial PSGs, but don't expect more than one high level mob per psg. I tank canyons and Elders, and go thru 1 per mob.
