You will take a bit less damage due to the opponent not having the accuracy bonus. The main reason for defence, however, is to alter the rate that your opponent misses you. The opponent's accuracy versus your defense is what matters.

Okay thanks. So it would be benefitical to my character to purchase enough tapes to get +25 in unarmed defense ?
