Thread: When do you use lunge, advice from the masters please!!

I didn't even know about this,


I am a TKM/Master DOC. and I love my template I have mastered doc and I am trying to learn the art of PVP through TKM. I use these attacks in this order, please tell me where I can use lunge.


warcry

intemidate

stun

blind

dizzy

KD2

then I unarmed 3 or head hit depending on situation. I where no armor and I only use VB's if the person as armor, tell me ohh Grand Master SENSEIs, when do I use lunge and is this order correct

Problem there. The blind can be replaced by Unarmed 3 - does good damage in addition of chance of adding blind. Dizzy + KD2 is OK, but here is where lunge can come in.

Thatikillo (sp?) is defence against KD. However they cannot take defence against posture down. Lunge 1 is posture down. Instead try this -

Warcry
Intimidate
Unarmed Hit 3
Dizzy
Lunge 1

Has a higher chance of working due to many take Thatkillo before a fight with a TKM. Also go for Lunge after they start to run away. Posture down from quite a range (check plz?) to give you a chance to catch up.

Summary: - Use Lunge1 in replace with aKD attack to have a higher chance of effect.
- Use Lunge 1 to stop enemies running away. Or at least try.

Lunge 2 at Master Brawler is a 20m KD. However it still works on the KD timer, and does KD instead of posture down, meaning Lunge 1 is still in general - a better choice, unless you want to try a KD when they're running off.

well thats great advice, but no KD2, i thought it is one of our strongest attacks

He's referring to usage in PvP. Other players can eat a food that gives 90% + resistance to knockdown, making knockdown2 useless in PvP, but it is still great in PvE.

KD2 is great pve and against players with little or no def v kd and those who neglect to eat Thaktillo. Most people have stacked defences sodizzy lunge is king, but then so is an intimidate macro

KD

if KD fails try it again

if KD fails and the target is dizzy then Lunge

if KD fails and the target isn't dizzy yet, dizzy then Lunge

if the target is down, and isn't a Jedi, spam headhit

if the target is down, and is a Jedi, spam dizzy

when the target gets up, try to bring them down again with the alternate KD move. i.e. if Knockdown2 brought them down the first time, use Lunge to get them down the second time.


This of course supposes that you're grouped with other players who can fulfil the damage role - CMs and RMs basically.


Warcry is pointless as you (or someone else in your group) aregoing to keep attacking the target.

Stun is a waste of time, it doesn't make enough of a difference. The RMs can spam it (and DIzzy) on the whole enemy group if they want to.

Blind is good only if the target is a Rifleman, and you don't have back-up.

lunge has like a 20 m range, possibly more, thats how i would get ranged people they dueland start runnin, use lunge and then run up and dizzy KD em and unarmed hit 3 boom thats it.

I don't know maybe i was taught a little different than all of you. This is sort of what i do, depends on the situation....


For a Ranged pvp, because they always want to start at least 20m away I /follow them, then this:

Intimidate (because the majority of people are wearing uber composite, and i'm a wookie, i need all the help i can get)

Lunge2

Dizzy

If this doesn't get them down, but puts them on their knee i:

KD2

Dizzy

Spam Headhit

I also throw in a Blind there somewhere when they're running.


Now for a Melee pvp, because they're obviously closer I do a little of this:

Intimidate(see the above reason)

Stun

KD2

Dizzy

Unarmed3/Headhit depends on what profession they are, if they're Swordsman i'm going to attack their mind, and if they're anything else I usually just attack whatever goes down faster.

If they happen to get back up from my KD before I can finish them off, i plop in my lunge2/dizzy because they're both on a 30 second timer, so it's alternating. And if they run? Lunge2/dizzy/kick their ass.
