Useless in pvp, either the pets will just get ignored, and hammered later, or someone will take the required few seconds to dispatch the pet before coming after you, pve it seems kinda pointless too as you'll be tanking for yourself anyway.

Okay let's forget about the whole "CH sucks" okay? CH does not suck, it's just not very useful because of all the 80% Kinetic resistance armor and doctor buffs. But let's put tha aside for now because I love CH.
Now... TKA + CH... not a good combination, why? Because usually you want to use your pet as a tank. A tank is someone or something that takes all the damage in a group.
With creatures, you will usually want to send your pet into a mob (A large amount of creatures or NPCs), and while your pet is taking all the damage, you're far back safe from all the combat, picking away at all the creatures while your pet takes the beating.
As a TKA, you are a tank. You are the one that is going hand to hand with a creature or NPC to fight. if you send in your pet to attack and you walk up to the mob and start attacking too, then your pet is nothing more than a pet dealing extra damage to your already powerful Teras Kasi attacks.
See why TKA + CH isn't very useful?
CH is great with any marksman profession. You send your pet into a mob, then you /prone and shoot the mob a couple hundred meters away with your rifle, pistol or carbine and never get hit since your pet is the tank.
if you really like CH, then get rid of TKA and get a Marksman profession. or keep Unarmed IV and start the Commando tree so it's not a total waste. But if you care more about power rathan than fun, you could drop CH and do something else to help enhance TKA. Most people do TKA, Fencer and Swordsman... which is kind of boring since everyone does that.

I mastered CH while already a TKM. It is most useful for dealing with kiters, as you can get cats whose default speed is equal to your burstrun. The quest for master was entertaining, but that was mostly that i was happy to be receiving xp again. once you've maxed your unarmed and combat xp, fighting gets a little boring.
In the end, I dropped CH because my pets had one major problem. They all did kinetic, just like me. Anything I really needed help against, they couldn't give. Also, with no armor penetration, all they can really do is tie things up until you get around to killing it yourself.
If you like solo PVE, then TKM CH is a good combo... but if you like fighting things that give you a challenge, all they do is get hurt too quickly to help.

I always thought it was stupid that all animals did kinetic damage. You'd think some of them would attack with acid at least. If you have animals that did different kinds of damage you'd see CH become attractive again.

Pets = dead in PvP
However, I loved my TKM/CH simply for RP purposes.
Nothing like fighting along side you pets, They will not make much of a difference in PvE as a TKM. However you CAN think of them as the bleed shot we are missing in our profession if you want justification for picking up CH.
Gave up CH temperarally to try out BE for a bite. I imagine that I will return to CH in a month or two though.

most forget about pet special attacks
with pet you can poison disease intimidate stun dizz/kd and others
i like the dizz/kd combo and poison/disease or intimidate
If i have 2 pets with dizzy/kd even if your oppenent dizzy/kd you the pets can still dizzy/kd them.
Main advantage is pets gives you extra abilites. And with range pet that has poison/disease you can fight 100%kin mobs just tank for your pet.

People forget special attacks from pets because they're unreliable. You can't command a pet to do a special so they only do it when they want to, which is rarely when it's needed.

You should really get your facts straight. Yes, the specials do work. They may not stick every time but they do work. I have a macro I use with my pets (/say attack; /pause 4; /say s1; pause 4; /say s2). They all do not stick every time but most of the time i have at least 4 effects on a mob at once. All my pets have 2 specials. I like to combine Strong Disease and Dizzy/KD on one and Strong Poison and Blind or Stun on another.
Any TKM/MCH out there please give this macro a try with your pets and you will be pleasantly surprised.
Visit your local MBE and pick up some good pets. They may be expensive but they are worth it.

I have teras kasi and ch, I am not a master of either profession. I think TKA I'm 2142 and CH I'm 1212. Any way I'm not yet half way up the tree on either. I never buff excpet power boost. I grind all my xp on endor, dant and dathomir. I don't wear armor. I also don't worry about cloning most nights. In fact I usually forget to.
The problem is with technique. I have a buddy of mine with me most of the time and he seems to incap alot.
It doesn't matter what profession you are. If you don't do it right or make a mistake you'll end up on your back in a cloner. My personal opinion is that TKA / CH is a fantastic PVE combination.
