If you use Intimidate2 and Synthsteak, the damage that most mobs do to you is so low that even 70% kinetic armor is a waste. At that point you'll probably be getting more damage from specials than from the enemy, and so you'll be more focused on getting HAM costs down.
This is different when fighting multiple enemies true, because Intimidate2 only affects one at a time, but Warcry2 will help that somewhat.

When I started TKA I had only done Ranged Profs and Commando so I was used to wearing my Ubese armor everywhere and now that I am a TKM I still wear my Ubese whenever I go hunting.
I have noticed a lot of TKMs don't wear armor and a previous thread was talking about using Buffs and Food to combat this problem. I use Vasarian Brandy and get buffed up right now (and sometimes mind-buffed) but I still can't see how you can hunt with no armor on. For single creatures and small groups it's probably doable but I often find myself surrounded by 2-4 Grassland Voritor Trackers for instance and even with armor on that sometimes is a tough battle.
I would like to make the move to hunting without armor but am just leery of it since I have always used the armor.
Is there anything else you do to help combat large groups or is it really possible to take on over 3 high end type creatures without putting armor on and defeat them solo?
