Thread: Its Official...TKA defensses are broken..

when you look at your skill tree do you see any mods for dodge/block/counter? cuz i don't


what i DO see is +96 defensive acuity - which has been acknowledged as broken for quite a while now


personally i'll take our +57 unarmed toughness anyday

Um, it's not like the correspondents have any real power over the devs. All they can do is bring up our issues and pray, just like the rest of us. They can't MAKE things happen any more than you or I can. They aren't PAID to do this, nor are they, apparently, given enough credit for doing what they do.

Whats funny is if you look at it TKA suppose to be the TANK of the game


we have all 3 defenses


dodge

block

counter attack


we have the highest toughness and a good deal of meele defense


now if it wasnt broke.


I droped fencer for 1 reason I didnt like how mine runner was taking the proffession


A dodge person who when get hits hurts alot


Im all about being a tank but a tank who can take the hits and keep on going


like tka.

TKA doesn't have the Dodge mod...only Fencer and Pistoleer do.

TK's greatest melee defense is melee damage mitigation 3.

If I whip out a pistol in melee, huge chunks of ham start disappearing.

If I'm going unarmed (or with a VK) even against ranged, I take much, much less damage.

If I use a pistol at ranged, I get hit less often, but those hits do more damage (it seems) than would be the case if I were in TK mode.

Its not mitigation that is doing that, its our Toughness mod. That is one of the best parts of being a TK, but our defenisve acuity does need to be addressed and should be one of the top 2 issues for our combat fixes.


Its my guess that defensive acuity works much like the defenses many mobs get. Ive seen mobs I fight both dodge and counterattack and even block when I am beating on them. I think all mobs get defensive acuity which is the chance to do any of the 3. Ours unforutnately does not seem to be very high...which must be a problem.


I also believe that each of the 3 is suppose to do something different..if you dodge, its as if you were missed, if you block it is hit, but no damage, but maybe your armor still takes a hit if you were wearing any. and Counterattack you are actually suppose to do a mini damage back.


I can only hope our correspondent is at least able to get the defensive acuity, and the single damage type (aka get us the RKs) issues to the forefront, or at least on the map with the devs.

Actually,I have noticed DA working whilst dealing with Enraged Rancors and other fauna in Dathomir ever since publish 9. In PvE it seems to be having an effect, although I was running CoB during the engagements.

As a TKM/BH I have made it my goal to cap my melee defense ( +150 with food )for hunting Jedi.What I have noticed is that with a VK equiped I do not evade any melee attacks at all by a master of any melee proffesion or Jedi..


BUT, when my pistol is equiped, I am damn near impossible to hit by a melee class and I only have +15 dodge..


This tells me that all tka defensses are broken in pvp..We only dodge/counter/block about 3% of any attacks, just about as much as a novice fencer would against a TKM..


Since Im sure this has been addresed and not fixed, I geusse im just ranting for no reason..You guys might look into getting a new correspondent...

Don't use CoB. But as for defenses, I added Pistoleer to mine and have both mitigations, decent range defense, great melee defense, COMBAT EQUILIBRUIM (which I love) and I also have good defense vs stuff. All and all, I am very happy. Just wait for the CB for new things to change,

Could you please expand on why you don't recommend CoB? I am a relatively new TKM, so wonder if there is something I am missing




ALWAYS use CoB.


it doesn't work as well as it does for the other melee professions, but it sure as hell works better than using nothing at all.
