Teräs Käsi in the CU - Questions, issues & concerns.



In the posts below is the questions I've posted in the Correspondent forums based on the feedback you lot have been giving me.

As soon as I get a reply I can post to you guys I will post it. I just wanted to make sure you saw what has been asked.

Looks good to me
I won't be a happy camper if my +25 UA Damage Suit is useless due to it being on Ubese acessories.
I agree that atm taunt is useless and its impossible for me to throw enough damage to be on top of the hste pile... especially with VK's being useless due to bugged XP.
If I still have to get the RK schematic from the DWB OR the motor from the NS Queen, I'm leaving the game.... unless ALL the other professions have to loot components from stupid crap like that for their master level weapons as well.

edit: VK weapon type isue fixed!

Oh yea...
Screw 2-handed.
We're better than that, more unique than that, have more depth and lore to our profession than that. Keep the generic junk out of my profession.

Unarmed does kinetic damage.


I hope it will be like someone said,that unarmed damage only adds damage if you dont wear a vibro knuckler so it will be viable to fight unarmed in some cases.

Also note that unarmed damge on tc is higher then in live now.

in response to the tank question, why is area taunt in the swordsman tree, and not in TK? Wouldn't it be better suited to treat taunt like intimidate is in Pikeman? Put area taunt in the TKM box and leave the normal taunt where it is now. Why would a swordsman need area taunt anyway, if they are the high-damage prof and would only want to attack things one at a time so that the tank can hold off the rest of the mobs.

Applogies for my aprent absensce over the weekend - been trying to get my teeth in to the new system more myself.

Just a comment that although we havn't had answers I'm sure the questions have been read as we have seen some of the issues addressed (PSGs for example).

I'm currently constructing a key issues post to follow this up a bit that will go stright on to the Corre forums & I'll do another copy like this a day or so after I've posted it (need to make sure I don't post anything that might still be under NDA).

Did the blue frog, master TK, no real animations. A kick or a punch, still.


#2 Area attack


Well, there isn't one. Bad tank, bad.


#3 speed


Why are we so slow in combat now?



I'd be thrilled if I knew better TK animations are there. Other than that, it's down to "rockem sockem robots" action.

1 week and still no answers, or even an SOE worthless promise of answers "soon" ???

If they are going to use that tired old system of giving biger races more health maybe ask them to give the smaller races a defence bonus because that are 'harder' to hit, uses the same type of logic so they might go for it.

Maybe someone in this list can help me with my concerns since NOT ONE PERSON FROM SONY has responded to a single post or email I have sent out.

When I test my character on both test servers I am killed faster than you can say, “Holy Famba Follicles Batman!”. I have been incapped by spineflaps, and killed by level 15 Imperial bounty hunters. Is it just me or has TKM gone right down the toilette? Our moves look like poor entry level martial arts, our attacks are nearly none existent and we can’t wear armor. What am I missing? Am I just doing something wrong? I love this game more than you know, I love TKM more than any other profession and I feel like the rug has been pulled out from beneath my feet with the CU. What am I doing wrong? What can I do? What can I do?!!!

Tanking and holding aggro shouldn't be based on area attacks. TKA's should get area taunt to pull aggro, not an area attack to hold aggro through damage. TKA's aren't the top damage dealers, to fit in the role of tank the Area taunt would be preferable. Area attack is just a weak way to get aggro and an easy way to boost our damage output. Our classification as a 3 of 5 for damage dealing is where TKA is now, but TKA should get some sort of 'crowd' control to be an effective tank, otherwise you'll be taunting each and every enemy individually to do your job. An area Taunt is a crowd control skill, but its alsoa proper tanking skill. Swordsman shouldn't have this as it doesn't fit with the 1 on 1 melee damage dealer role.
