Thread: What is innate armor.

I keep seeing it being mentioned. Is it a skill you activate during combat or is it a modifier that is always active for TKA's?

It is a passivemodifier that gives you 60 percent resist to everything across the board


you do not have to activate it

so like what.... do you get the full 60% at master or is it just a skill block that when you get it you get the 60%?

Also if you wear any armour you will lose the innate armour until you remove the armour.


Note there is/was a bug that was causing problems with innate armour even after you removed all other armours.

the innate armour at master level (+60) is equal to a battle armour (same resist against everything) of 6000. this will reduce damage by about 48%. if u use Center of Being it will add 4000 to your armour bringing it to 10000 (= around 60% damage reduction). this is about the maximum u can get (even 12000 armour wouldnt add much to it).

Here are all the stats and actuall % from armor, thanks to Lammergeier for the info.

armor value / actual percent damage reduction

1000 = 10.5%
2000 = 20.0%
3000 = 28.5%
4000 = 36.0%
5000 = 42.5%
6000 = 48.0%
7000 = 52.5%
8000 = 56.0%
9000 = 58.5%
10000 = 60%

That is not true actually. The exact thing that CoB does is that is adds +500 to your defense mod(not armor). This has 2 effects: 1) you get hit less often; 2) the hits you take do less damage


Exactly how much less damage you take is depending on what your relative defense mod is compared to the attackers accuracy. This relationship has not been testedmuch at all,so there may be additional factors that play a role in how much damage reduction you get.

A personal guess (based on a vague dev post) is that the attackers minimum damage, or damage spread, plays a role in this. So the greater the spread the more reduction there is due to defense. Will need testing to say more of course.

so tkm innate armor is equal to 10000 stat armor?

You get the max innate armor at TKM. From novice to master, innate armor increases in the balance conditioning and the power techniques trees (at least the last time I checked, which was when the CU was still on the test server).



There is no 'icon' for what I was before, but it was me.
