Thread: Warning about the Katarn Knuckler

Just incase someone does not know: You can trade the "Katarn" knuckler. It can NOT be sliced if you already biolinked it!!!

And im doing more damage with them before and after slice,(i am a TKM)

I got a speed slice and it now does about 20dps more than the one i have not sliced. So go nuts it might turn out good.

This is probably a dumb question, but canyou go through the quest again and get another?

I can verify that they are tradable as i sold mine for 1.5 mil cause, like all tk weapons, it is pretty much useless

The quest is the Trials in the Rryatt(spelled that wrong) Trails zone on Kashyyk. I can't remember the Wookiee's name who gives it to you, but he's at about 11 oclock right as you enter the zone through the gate.


You have to do a bunch of kill tasks for him to prove yourself. The first few are soloable (if you're CL 80ish), the last one is not. That being the task to actually kill the Katarn at the bottom of the trail in the Shadowed Lands. He's a bad, mad mofo. CL 87. I tried to solo him for shmits and giggles, and he was hitting me for about 380 every half a second. And I was stated to heck and back. Blind! Dizzy! Bleed! Over and over and over. You'll need a group with a medic for this guy. I still haven'tfinished it.

ok, now that my katarn is sold, here is the secret to this quest....



I did the final part with two fully templated jedi. We faught him for over two hrs and got pretty much nowhere as his regen health rate is so damn high. After about 2 hours, one of the jedi was in trouble and tried to run away. The Katarn followed him, so the jedi kept running. The jedi ran into an area where here were tons of NPCs and the NPCs attacked the Katarn, not the jedi!


Im not sure what group of NPCs killed him but if you let the Katarn chase you into a mob of npc's, he will be killed in less than 5 minutes.

I cant believe Im back.


Well, I ended up joining a questing group and sure enough, we did this quest.


We had 3 lvl 80s (me as a MBH/MRifles and another MBH/MPistols and a Jedi named Maymay, there were two melee types, lvl 74 and 50something.) Our first attempt failed as no one was ready when somebody just ran in there.


Second try we killed it in about 60 seconds. If you stop putting damage on it that thing can regen like mad. Anyway, it does have an AE attack with a good range and it puts a stun, blind and maybe even dizzy on you.


The jedi and Pistol BH actually duo'd it before but took them a while. its not that hard. Just get a dedicated healer and some damage dealers. I want to go back and do it for my melee toon.

I soloed this entire quest and the katarn.

the dude who can't bio-link/trade his knucks... you did the quest before they made them bio-link/tradeable.
