While doing the phase 4 quests at the village, the Sith (level 77) were doing minimal damage to me while in a Level 80 group of 8. I could solo a pirate with little effort. I am a TKM with maximum Innate Armor.
However, if I'm not grouped (level 64), the Sith thugs and outlaws would take me down in 3-4 shots.
Anyone else noticed CL making a large difference in your armor?

There are modifiers now between levels. If you're higher level than the mob, you hit harder and get hit softer than an equal level. If you're lower level than a mob, prepare for a whuppin' while you swing with q-tips. It's supposed to keep you in line with your level. You should be able to solo 2-3 levels over your CL with some effort, or go do missions for your CL for a breeze...just don't expect the mega XP gains of hitting over your CL.

When in a group, you get the same CL as the player with the highest CL in the group. Therefore, if someone in the group is CL 80, then so are you. This means that against a level 77 Sith, you are not being battered due to the damage multiplier that is given to an opponant with higher level than you. In fact, you get a damage multiplier against the Sith. Not sure if I explained that well, but I'm tired so forgive me :-)
