What happened to all the cool fighting animations? At master the best moves are displayed as either a cheap front kick or a jab....

As far as I'm aware, although this is prolly wrong knowing my luck, they removed most of the animations to give things a more Star Wars like feel, or make it faster paced, or something.
End result? Melee combat now looks insanely boring. But this seems to be quite intentional, and I assure you. It's not just TKM, but ALL melee professions. TKM, Swordsman, Fencer, Pikeman, even Jedi. (Jedi, out of ALL the saber moves they have, I've seen like... four cool moves total left. Three of them being the same move, just with a diffrent saber equiped.)

I don't know if this has anything with being FS, but I've only noticed it after I became glowy. I've got spiral tracers flying around my enemy (when I do dizzy), as well as trails off my feet or fists on occasion. Sometimes when my toon gets all worked up, she even starts to make funny noises when hitting. This doesn't happen all the time. I think it might have something to do with hitting certain moves in a particular sequence, or perhaps something to do with the force. Has anyone else noticed this?

agreed, fighting now is just rubbish looking. they've also taken away the cool punching sounds when hitting mobs. now its just a dull unrealistic thud.. its taken all the coolness out of melee combat thats for sure.
oh and i do get the weird spiral lines around a mob when i use a dizzy move (and i suppose SOE think that ISa starwarsy thing to have??).

When you are using some of the swordsman skills using a TKA weapon you will see some of the old moves, but its still not the same.
I hope they go back to the old moves fast because this makes melee so incredibly boring.

I get punching sounds on occasion too. Only rarely though. If I'm sending spirals around, or get tracer/flashes of the end of my limbs my toon might start making these weird grunting sounds.
By the way, do people watching you also see those spiral thingees?

Read the stickies. the devs have said there will be a wider variety of animations in the future. For me that's one of the many features of this CU that re-enforces the widely held opinion that SOE are in the habbit of shamlessly putting unfinished products live to a paying audience but that's another topic

yes ive noticed there pretty much gone but theres 1 thing that doont seem to makle sense. is it just me or does every1 stop there fighting animation when there dueling? like when a jedi fights after he does his attack the lightsaber turns off and its a cycle of turnning on n off. is it just me or is this happening to every1???

Yea it happens to me 2. My LS turns off even when i stop attacking creatures. Its so gay. Im beginning to get fed up with this game.

Animations ARE needed. Sounds would help, (thuds aren't the best) but they can wait. Animations are a bit higher on my list. Really, Advanced Combo or whatever should use the old Unarmed Hit 3 animation. Man, that was my favorite. I remember when the red 'trails' on TK moves were dimmed, I was like 'woah, I miss my cool bright trails.' So yea, animations.
