Thread: tkm/pike/doc 4xxx or tkm/2handed sword/ doc 4xxx?

like in the title... what one is better? Ive seen jsut about an even split between the number of people who have the skills but when it coems down to it what one is better PvE and PvP???

Swordsman has more damage output with less defence + you can use the High damage attacks from Swordsman while unarmed and maintain your high-level of defence.
Pikeman is more well rounded, and Advanced sweep attack is Nice.

Master TK, Master Pike, Doctor 4xxx - is the best IMO....
Master Pikeman has a faster attack speed then Master Swordsman....and the Damage Per Strike are really not that far apart...just go check the Swordsman Board.
Plus, you get the additional defenses and State attacks that lower or slow the damage output from NPC/PC characters.

I started with the second template, moved over to the first. At the end, I found pike to be more versatile.
Few things:
- Sword gives you armor brake, and higher kinetic dmg output. (will miss both)
- Intim, and Warcry help with tanking, and area attack rocks.
- Pike has way cooler looking weapons and animations... I was sick of that stupid looking power hammer. (only viable weapon at msword)

hmm i think i will do pikeman just because it will look cooler and the sweep thingy mo bobber... i still need to respec... i have TKM already and i think i will have enough points to get most of pikeman... doc should be easier to get i think.. anyways thank you!!!

I'm in this spot as well.
My original plan was MSwords, TKM, MBrawler, Pike. That worked really well.
Then people kept pointing me at doc (I was MSwords, 4/4/4/0 Doc Pre). I refused. No! I will not sully myself with items, with healing! I will go pure Melee! I will beat down!
And then I tried out the TKM/MSwords/Doc 4000. And I loved it. I stayed up just as much, and I could heal people around me, and cure their wounds. Dangit! I didn't want to. But I'm a swordswook - always have been. I hit things until they stop moving.
And now, the Pike-side calls to me. Intim. Warcry. Area attacks. Kashyyyk Bladestick.
It tears my heart apart, it does. But I find myself more and more angling towards the beat-down tank, especially considering how many people are having issues with the CU - I pride myself in being the one saying "Oh, yeah, I tanked that" or "No, no, here, let me draw attention, you play with your specials...."
Seems like Pike fits more with the Tank/Control aspect, and Swds is more the "I want to live long enough to beat you down" aspect.
Anyone else tried out both? I did the Swords last night, and had no problems clearing level 82 missions of Gungans, Fambaa, or whatever else I could pull. At one point I aggro'ed 2 entire camps of 81-82 gungans, and it was tight, but I stayed up. Tonight I'll test pike (though my pike is much worse than my PH) and report back, assuming I have respecs left.

Master Pikewoman/Master TK/Doc 4000 with modded clothes, good food, spice, stim D's, Bacta Infusion, COB, dizzy/stun attack, Intimidate, Warcry, Area Sweep, and a 1000+ damage pike for the WIN!
Innate Armor = NO ARMOR/NO DECAY...more money for other goodies!
