Ok, I'll give them the arguement that its stupid to bring a knife to a gun fight but lets look at the reverse.

There is a reason why EVERY military and police force on earth trains its members in at least basic unarmed combat techniques. Because inclose quarters or ashort ranged environment unarmed or small melee weapons are vastly better.

Pull a gun and you'll be disarmed before you can bring it to bare. Have a gun already drawn and your target will be able to react quicker at closer quarters then you. This is not hollywood rules, this is reality. Yes a pistol CAN be good in close quarters but a knife or well trained hand IS better.

Its simply a matter of what the training focuses on... a gun wielder trains to hit things at range, to aim quickly and accurately while standing relativly still and hit a still or moving target at range. They do not train while running madly and they do not train on how to kill someone who is within 5'.

Its simply silly that a agile, nimble trained athlete can be kited by a gun wielder and CAN'T EVEN FIGHT BACK if we catch up.... we have to stop to fight.... which means we are out of range again. It looks something like this. Run, catch up, stop, Run, catch up,stop, Run,catch up, stop... Its should be Run, catch up, trip, kick, kick, kick, clean brain goo off boots.

We should be on average, faster, tougher, and harder to hit then a guy with a gun because that is what we train to be. But we are not, we are the same speed, as tough, as agile and it is easier for other professions to neutralize a close quarters combatant.

So if your going to continue with the logic that a gun wielder can hands down win against a meleer at range (which they should) then make sure that if we catch them or surpise them, or get withing 5' of them for any reason they are disarmed, broken boned and lying on the ground groaning in pain faster then they can say "Shi......."

BTW, I am not saying this just as a TKA, the above things should be true for all 4 melee classes. Come within range of OUR choosen weapons and you shouldn't have a chance cause your choosen weapons are not designed to be used up close.

UmmmWTF

Simply enough.. This entire argument is stupid.

If we are going to go with "Don't bring a knife to a gun fight"argument then here's my argument for Axes.

I hit you once with a HUGE AXE. You won't be shooting me with your pistol anymore.

Instead you'll be looking for the arm that was holding the pistol.. It's somewhere on the floor.

How stupid.. Don't bring a knife to a gun fight.. Let me punch the SOE guys in the face with brass knuckles on and see how well they shoot.

Reality plays absolutely no part in a dumb ass video game which allows a person with just 1 ham left to fight as well as a person with full ham.

You either have a class in the game and make that class balanced or you take the class out.

I honestly feel our class has "unofficially" been taken out of the game.
