Ok noob question here.

How does unarmed damage work with VK's. Does it stack or if I equip VK's does it mean that the system uses my VK rating for damage rather than my current unarmed damage rating?

VK damage/speed is used vs pure unarmed. This is the reason people suggest using VKs even if you don't have the cert to get the speed bonus. The drawback, of course, is the higher HAM cost on specials.

Using VKs is still considered unarmed. VKs can affect damage, HAM cost for using specials, and attack speed. The formula for computing dmg with VKs is:

(unarmedDmg + vkDmg) * specAttackMultiplier
