It's only a client side mod.. no one else but you (or someone else who installs it) will see it.. they'll see the same old standard attack.

This is what happens when you install the following file, which changes the plays with the visuals of a TKA to use lightsabers.

Before you go "omg they arent real jedis, well duh but believe it or not when a TKA does unarmedhit3 with a VK thats' saberd, the animation is the saberhit3 animation! ( Of course when you do that, only people with the patch will see saberhit3 but none the less awesome )

Extract this into your root directory (C:\program files\starwarsgalaxies\) by default and get yourself a wooden staff/ regular curved sword for some lightsaber action.

Actually, I think client side mods are okay. You're only altering what you see, not what's sent to the server. I can play with the color output on my video card to make it black and white and grainy. Am I not allowed to do that?

Not that I'd install said patch, but I dont' think there's anything inherently wrong with the mod, and if I recall correctly, a while back some SOE guy said that SWG would be fairly good for theme modding, implying it was okay.
