Thread: Seriously if at all possible how can we make suggestions directly to the Devs?

Thats about it I want to suggest things directly, like the electric knuckles or something so we like ALL other fighters have the option of changing our damage type when confronting things with higher resists. Also Shurikens or something like that with slow or dizzy poison options. We cant kill a new novice marksman if they run away from us and never get caught. And dizzy people can't run or at least should have a HUGE probability of falling down. And on a different topic, how about buying a connecting ticket all at once so we don't have to run out to the ticket booth and miss the shuttle. You would think a galactic civilization would be able to buy a ticket from Endor to Coronet, and at the same time get your connection to say Dathomir. Then when you "land" in Corellia, you can just go to the ticket droid and fly to your next stop. Help me get the word out please. If enough of us request these things, then there will be a 1% chance that they may actually try to do it.

my advice is to contact the devs in test center, but combat balance is coming mate. to grab their attension partision a forum for the matter

part of your post (no matter how unrealistic it is) belongs here. the other part doesn't.
I suggest you read a few threads here first to see what people think about different damage types, a ranged weapon for TK (especially one that could dizzy or poison, rofl). You should also check the stickies about how to PvP against ranged professions, you'll find a lot of players here have had quite a bit of success against all combat professions, and can offer a good deal ofwisdom.
As far as the ticket issue, you should be lucky that the wait is only 5 minutes imho, most of us that have been here a while had to deal with 10 minute wait times for shuttles to other planets. You can even talk to a few who remember playing without swoops or speeders and had to run everywhere. Anyway you might want to submit that to the general topic, or the core systems forums.
oh, and talking directly to the developers....mwuahahahaha!!!!!

I play testcenter sometimes, and visit their forums, and it is *not* the place to get ahold of the devs. Many people go there mistakenly thinking it is, but it isn't. The devs that hand out there are QA devs (Vass, Taurin, and Rogue_5). Testcenter is just for finding bugs.
So you want to get a message directly to the devs? Believe it or not they provide a way, and it's right on the main page. Under Support in the left-hand menu, there is a link called "Submit Feedback". It goes right to the dev team and you can use it to give them ideas or complaints.

I fully remember running everywhere and thinking the the original mounts were the coolest thing ever. And much foul language was heard in my house when I ran up to watch a shuttle taking off and I knew that I would be /thumbtwiddle for ten minutes. If it is too complicated to make connecting ticket purchases, how about ticket vendors right inside the large gathering area so I don't have to run a hamster maze to try to get my ticket and get back before the shuttle leaves. Or, best yet, make all worlds like Theed on Naboo and just hand the ticket over and launch anytime. I see no reason for me to play a game that involves such annoying things like waiting for mass transit. If I want to wait for a bus, I can do it much cheaper down the block from where I live. I want to escape from the tedium of real life when I play a game so I don't like to wait for shuttles online. I also see no reason we can't use throwing weapons, as many melee combatants throughout history have found ways to shoot an enemy when needed. TK is a martial arts discipline, which has thrown weapon techniques here on Earth. I mainly do PVE so when the enemy runs, I hit taunt to try and stop their escape, but I find it very annoying when things run. A rancor tries to hoof it when I nearly have him dead, it's just wrong. And with the temporal distortions in the game, a flying creature will often warp out of taunt range in a split second making it harder for me to complete my mission or task. The answer is simple, train in marksman, no? I wanted to do just that, but then I found myself glowing and I need to trade a few billion Unarmed XP to get Force XP so starting a new profession now would be foolish. I want to try Jedi so I am stuck as only TKA for now. Anyway, thanks for letting me vent and thanks for advice I do appreciate it. Remember our vote counts so if enough of us ask for throwing stars and different energy knucklers, the Devs will have to find some reason to ignore us and do what they want anyway. Actually I know they are probably swamped with the JTL transition at the moment so I expect that to take precedence. But hey, TKAs unite and demand more options and we will soon be where we want to be!

Ok, here are some things that could help ya
1) Paragraphs are your friend
2) Use /board trans when the shuttle is there shortly after purchasing your ticket
3)Well, all of the melee professions are a Martial art... its merely a form of balance.
4) Shuttle wait is only 5 minutes now

Oh, and as for the ranged attack with TKA...
I would think it's kinda funny to see a meleerpull out a bow or Shuriken.
Also, since no one has suggested it.. There is the semi-direct way of making suggestions to the devs...

There is also a command called: '/purchaseticket'. It takes two planets and two cities and ticket type as arguments. Like this:
/purchaseticket naboo Theed_Spaceport corellia Coronet_Starport single
I cant remember all the valid city names, but if you do a search for it im sure you will find something.

Copy all of this into a .txt document and name it ticketalias.txt
and put it in your SWG directory
use /load ticketalias.txt to bring it up in game

There are a couple of different ways to get information/requests to the Developers actually. The primary route is through the Correspondent or through the "Feedback" link that was mentioned prior. The other option is just to post here. Yep, believe it or not the boards are read by the Developers. However they cannot read everything, and hence the Correspondent program was formed.
