TKA is from the the game Masters of Teras Kasi.... and the Holonet from before Ep. II.... not sure as to any other references, but that doen'st mean they don't exist. The holonet articles had a number of mentions of TKA, including the championships where a non-Jedi defeated a Jedi in TK (due to use of illegal substances)

Ok here is the CANNON on Teras KASI

"Both a martial art and an Order. The Teräs Käsi were formed from the remnant civilians of a long-ago battle which devestated their home world of Palawa, a war which involved the awsome powers of the Jedi Council. The few survivors of Palawa migrated to a nearby world called Bunduki, where they decided to master mind over body so they may keep the Jedi use of power in check.

The Teräs Käsi are thought to be sensitive to changes in the Force, and Teräs Käsi Masters are feared by the Jedi. But Teräs Käsi are not generally Force users as Jedi are: Teräs Käsi draw internal, personal power, while Jedi draw from everything around them."

Straight from the EU. This is Teras Kasi. This Mochery of them in this game is not. We are to be feared by Jedi's at master level, we are not to fear gnorts and space bunnies

Really? I read Shadows. I only remember thinking it was a stinker of a novel. Something about Dark Sun criminal organization and the leader always fighting with Vader. I stopped reading EU novels because most of them were so terrible. The first series by Zahn was good. That was about it. Just my opinion.

As it’s been stated before, in other posts, EU is NOT canon (and yes, this Canon is only supposed to be spelled with one ‘N’ between the ‘A’ and the ‘O’). Extended Universe is just that. Extended.

That being said, the above post is correct about the information provided on the TKA. They are supposed to be one of the most feared warrior sects out there. The d20 RPG states that Maul was TKA trained (pre-revised, never read the revised one…I prefer the West End game anyways). The chic from the TK video game (boy did that one bite) seemed to play some sort of grander role in everything as well.

As for the EU books, yeah, most of ‘em seem to bite. I didn’t like Shadows, and I didn’t even bother finishing Black Fleet Crises (though I may go back and try to re-read it, just so I can say I did). There was another one, not a trilogy or anything, where Luke and Han went to find out about an alien that supposedly used the Force to heal people…it was so bad, I own the book and can’t remember the name…heh.

well it appears you didnt read the book at all because the leader "didnt" fight with vader.. and it was one of the better starwars novels around.. maybe you read the shoolastic version where they cut half of it out with big letters so you could read it easier :\

I am dismayed at the lack of understanding of the difference between the words cannon and canon.

I'm not really sure I wanna know what ‘punding’ your head is [[winks]]

Seriously though. You’re right, EU is sanctioned by Lucas. That’s why it’s ‘official’. It not being Canon is how things are differing in the movies from what had come before in the books.

I suppose, the best way I could explain it is comparing it to alternate universes in Comic Books (Infinite Earths and Hypertime for DC comes to mind). Essentially, it allows writers the creative freedom they want/need to explore a universe as rich as this. However, you can think of it like Earth 1 (the primary earth where things are as we know them), and the alternate earths, where Fett was a master journeyman, not the clone of Jango.

And I still think the TKA video game sucked…heh.
