Thread: if you cant beat em, join em
Yep, I'm going up the smuggler tree as well. The rationale being, of course, "If SOE doesn't want to level the playing field at least a little bit, I might as well do it myself."
The only problem: using a pistol is boring as hell.
Auto-target creature, spam health shots, body shots, warning shots ....auto-target next creater, spam health shots, body shots, warning shots ... auto-target next creature spam health shots, body shots, warning shots ...
::: yawn :::
You can stick around and give'em all you cash but I wont I am gonna quit this crap game. I dont care for playing EQ is space.
They should of added elves to this game.
A now useless TKA.
All I can say is that the dirty fighting tree rocks. Panic shot is amazing, FD will save your life. Low blow is great. I don't have last ditch yet, but it's supposed to rock as well.
I'm planning on going up the support line in pistoleer as well to get the speed bumps (sorely needed).
It's a great compliment to TKA skills. Woe to those who keep their distance, and woe to those who stray too close.
I've been looking at this and I noticed I can be Master Marksman, Master Smuggler, Master TKA, and 18 skill points to spare...
I will definitely persue this path myself, will have to abandon most of my scout skills (I'm currently a Master Scout as well), but I think the Smuggler profession bonuses far outweigh camps, traps, and mob information. I will keep as much run speed as I can.
Hmm, actually after checking, I can keep exploration 4 (bonuses to Terrain Negotiation and Burst Run) and only go up to a Smuggler 4 2 4 2
I did the Pistoleer/Dirty Fighting combo myself.Since it is so effective, I am wondering if I should even continue working my way to Master TKA.
It's like "Okay, my target is bleeding and knocked down, and it will only take a few more gun shots to kill it, but I am going to switch over to my TKA skills to finish it off just to look cool."
In other words, we are so ineffective in PvP, we have to rely on firearms to do most of the work before we can even use our TKA skills. It's kind of a waste. Why not just totally put all the skill points into a gun to begin with. Because "self image" (as Raph said) and role-playing are the only reasons to roll a brawling profession right now unless you don't want to participate in PvP combat.
