Thread: Holla
Hi.
I've heard a lot of people screaming nerfs because *ahem* "X CLASS SOLOED A BULL RANCOR!!! THAT AUTOMATICALLY AND WITHOUT FURTHER INVESTIGATION MAKES THEM OVERPOWERED!!! NERF THEM!!!"
Basically, I figured I'd ignore them, and do a little research.
Here is a typical Bull Rancor... (I think, I lost my notes with the stats, So please correct me if I am wrong)
Approximatly 12000 Health, Action, and Mind, and a Kinetic Resist of about 60%. Damage is about 300-400, maybe more.
Alright.
For TKAs, this beast may be intimidating, but with a little luck, and a lot of Stim B's, They are in fact easily soloable (though even more so for another proffession, but I'll get back to that)
Assuming have a pet, I'd suggest that you find a single Bull Rancor, then charge at it,
Then... Do as Follows...
- Make sure to have lots of mind, and perhaps even buff prior to the fight. A good suit of armor will help a lot, in fact, no armor makes the fight near impossible. (note: Macro it)
- At 30 meters, send in your pet, it will give you enough time as a distraction to land an Intimidate. Make sure to spam it until it works (no knucks, armor off)
- At this point, you'll be in melee, and your pet will be down. At this point, It'll be you vs. Rancor. You'll be taking the full brunt of the damage, will will be of course be halfed thanks to intimidate. Now you want to reduce damage further, Spam Unarmed Stun until you land it. (no knucks, armor off)
- At this point, heal as the damage from hence forth is low enough to be almost negligible, but spam Unarmed Blind until you land it. (no knucks, no armor)
- Now comes the hard part, heal one more time if needed, throw on armor and knucks, and just let the basic attack go. Also, every once in a while it might be good to throw out a KD or a Lunge every once in a while to stop it's attacks or give you a chance to heal. This is also an alternative to the open with pet.
- If ever a debuff falls, ditch everything and lay it on again as quick as possible, else you'll be eating dirt soon.
Notes...
- Armor and Knucks increase HAM costs, which may make hits to your mind worse, and THAT you can't heal easily, and since their is the off chance it will hit it, then you'll want for you to be the reason you are incapped from it.
- This takes a long time to do, since you're essentially tanking without support, but in the end it's a lot of fun to say that you've done it.
Now, that's easy enough...
How to solo a Bull Rancor with any other weapon
Seeing as I've been everything from a Carbineer to a Commando, I can say that using the right tactics, I can solo anything with these classes. How? Simple.
- Send in Pet
- DOT
- Kite, using terrain, pets, meleers, and even wildlife to keep it behind me. I've done this to take everything from Bull Rancors to a Kimogila.
Notes...
- Bleeds are powerful, they kill with you not even having to be there.
Explain me how you'll do that with a Pike

Warcry
UA HIT 2 Spamming ( it'll be 3 in one more box- dammed combat XP)
Always works for me- but then again ive got a pretty good knuckler- and i pop that muon or fishank when needed ( plus if ive just done this to say 3 other rancors- equillibrium and im back in action
I am a master TKA 0,3,2,4 Swordsman
I use no armor, I use my TKA self buffs and apply the bleed from this point the bull rancor dies really really fast because I switch back to tka do intimidate, warcry, knockdown Center of Being and just watch the rancor die
KD and warcry, pft, what else do you need?
You make thinsg too complicated
