I was just wondering if TKAs can buff themselves without help from a doctor or a chef. I am just a TKA Novice with 0-0-1-0, so I do not know to much about the profession just yet.

This post states that they can: http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=GCW&message.id=89166

And here is the quote: "They can buff themselves without the help of a doctor or chef." -Chikitta

I am just wondering if this is so.

Any information is helpful, thank you.

Is it really useful? As in not needing to even go the doctor profession as well?

here, i'll expain it a bit better.

if you have health 1000 action 1000 mind 1000

and you powerboost, you'll have, health 1500 action 1500 mind 1500 for those 5-10min.

and yeah, it helps a bit, i'm planning to go master tka/doc myself, and while powerboost is good, it isn't anywhere near as good as doc buffs.

Power Boost + Doc Buffs + Foods (Fishak/Glucose Pate) + Muon (usedsparinglysincedowners suck)= One tough TKM

Add entertainer buffs to that equation, and you are nigh unstoppable when fighting smart.

There is no need to go master doc. Save 140 skill points and just get buffed by a doc whenever you play.

Easier said than done. I wouldn't give up the ability to be able to use MD buffs whenever I need them for anything. Well, maybe an elite-elite TK profession, but other than that, I never had easy access to Doc buffs before. It's a trade-off, and my choice was MD. If you have access to Doc buffs all the time, then no, you're probably better served to spend your points elsewhere. But if you want to be able to buff yourself anytime, anywhere (with the normal restrictions of course) heal those States (especially Dizzy, very handy) heal diseases and poisons and bleeds on the run, then Doctor rocks. Just my opinion anyway.

Disagree.

Paying 5-6k for a full buff, and usually mediocre buffs at that, justisnt worth it. Not to mention finding a Doc who will buff you is not always easy.

Example, I can buff, but I don't buff anyone but myself and my friends on occasion. Lots of Docs don't buff just anyone. Not being rude, but I got the skills for myself, not to be a healer for everyone. And I am not alone, lots will notbuff just anyone. Just food for thought.

Besides, building a template that has a dependency on Doc buffs, and not being able to buff yourself, is not a good idea. You will see lots of downtime and frustration running around looking for buffs. And if you die 5 minutes after getting them, you get to do it all over again.

You dont need to master doc to buff yourself, at the most you need 0-2-4-0 to use good Enhance D Packs. I buy all my buff packs, so no need to worry about resources or crafting.

They mean powerboost.

It buffs your health, action and mind half of your mind bar.

It lasts for 10 mins at MTKA.

Shape and substance day by day will vanish.
Hair and teeth will gradually fall away.
Always from the days of old men has it been this way
And none born can escape this thing.

Are you sure about the Enhance D packs? I thought that they raised the medicine use on the D packs to 90-something and that would mean you either have to spend experimentation points on bringing down the medicine use instead of raising the effectiveness or that you have to go to Master Doctor to use fully experimented enhance D packs.
