Reminds me of when ATSTs were highly susceptible to KD. Made me think that they had "Acme" stamped on them somewhere

For whatever reason they decided that only npc's and players would be effected by dizzy, no creature will ever be effected by it even if it does stick on them.

Actually its due to some fix in publish 8, they made creatures tougher and smarter. Some creatures stay down for 3 sec others stay down for like 10 sec. Its really dependent on the armor class and kinetic protection the creature has.

Yeah they say its only for PC's and NPC's. They say it was never intended for creatures... Weird but o well.. maybe their smarter... Or are defense stackers

Wich actually sound very stupid when you start a scout and realize that 1 of the 2 first trap you can do put a dizzy state and is only usable against creature.

Go figure.

well animals with 4 legs shouldnt really get knockdown and dizzy to stay down, 1stly 4 legs sre the minamum requirements for statically (stationary, not moving) and dynamically (moving) stable stances.

2 leg'd animals are dynamically stable to remain standing upright these creatures need to be able to move and adjust parts of thier body constantly. stablilty and body control is done by the brain with stabilty coming from movement of the water in the ear canals. when dizzy the water in these canals are moving at a great rate and makes it difficult for the brain to control the rest of the body while dizzy.

4 leg'd creatures dont need to move to remain standing, and so if dizzy'd the brain doesnt control the standing elements as much as what a 2 leg'd creature would need allowing the creature to remain standing.

animals that really need to be fixd tho would be all the smaller 2 legged creatures in the game such as squills etc.

I think perhaps they need to look into fixing it for the flying creatures as well, and not just smaller 2 legged creatures. While I agree with your logic on why a 4 legged beasty remains standing while static, what we're talking about is an animal that is actively attacking you while trying not to get hit and moving around. Being dizzy is only going to make it harder for the critter to remember exactly how many legs it needs to keep in contact with the ground at any one moment.

McFlyGuy - I was a Ranger and completely forgot about the absurdity of the dizzy trap. Gave it up when I realised that all the combat bonuses applied only to ranged fighters, camouflage was next to worthless, tracking was buggered by any kind of elevation and only worked over 500m, camps became redundant and the extra traps you got were more likely to get you killed by aggroing everything in the area. The only thing I liked about Ranger was that I could skin, gut and fillet creatures for more resources than anyone else.
