Teras Kasi Archive
Thread: How many people know where TKA came from?
I think it might suprise you.
It was introduced durring the Mortal Combat/Street fighter craze.
Star Wars "masters of Teras Kasi" ( http://www.lucasarts.com/products/masters/ )
The Galactic Empire is sent reeling from the loss of the Death Star. The Emperor has ordered swift and severe retribution against the Rebel Alliance. His subversive and covert method of hurting the Alliance: the feared and effective young assassin, Arden Lyn. A student of an ancient and almost forgotten fighting art known as teräs käsi. Arden is a clever threat. Under the watchful eye of Darth Vader, Arden Lyn must terminate key members of the Rebel Alliance and thus ease the pain of the Empire's loss. The Alliance learns of this plan and decides to meet the challenge head-on.
That was it. No Jedi watchers or anything like that, Xizor was made one in the book as a nod to the game.
Sorry if this has been posted before but I see a lot of debate on what a TKA is and there is little documantation on it, this is why. It never existed outside this game and a reference in 1 novel.
What is Teräs Käsi in Star Wars Galaxies Terms?
A very deadly form of unarmed combat focusing on unarmed combat and near magical meditation skills. Teräs Käsi is an elite profession which first requires training through the Unarmed Specialist branch of the Brawler tree. Teräs Käsi is a very short range method of combat. Teräs Käsi masters are afforded the best skill-based melee attacks and defenses, and are set apart from other melee classes by their speed and meditation abilities.
What is Teräs Käsi in Terms of Star Wars and the Expanded Universe?
One of many martial arts, but one of the few which appears to integrate well with the Force. Mastery of Teräs Käsi is seen as uncommon in galactic terms, but not rare in the Pacanth Reach of the Outer Rim Territories where Teräs Käsi originated. Sith, Jedi and neutral Force-users seem to be attracted to Teräs Käsi: The martial art itself is neither good nor evil.
call me crazy but a fencer can attack just as fast as I can hahahahaha.....the second part was just a bit of info
