Thread: Is going unarmored in PvP an option?

Title says it all. Could simply relying on innate armor and BE clothes (along with cob, but everyone uses cob, armored or not) stand up to wearing a suit of armor? im talking fairly high end armor.

I dont know for sure, but this seems to be the benefits of armor vs. innate armor:

Armor: can get it made to enhance your health, a good suit can offer more protection than innate armor. also, an extra place for armor attachments (doesnt really apply to me, never have much money).

Innate Armor: doesnt cost anything, offers fairly good protection from what i hear. also, you can look stylish, heh.

am i right here? how much does it cost to keep yourself armored (again, quality armor) if your constantly pvping now?

well, thats all my questions hope someone can be kind enough to help me out, and thanks for any replies.

Still havent met armor that could out last me in a duel. Of course I do use fencer as my means of attack but you get the picture =D

Its an option, however if you want you can wear solid battle armor for more protection. Especially with the current borked state of special protection, a set of 6500ish battle armor is quite obviously superior to your master TK innate.

Lets you cheaply max your mods too, dont see unarmed AAs selling for very high prices. Or general melee speed/accuracy AAs for that matter, then look at the prices for CAs on the aforementioned, wowsers, usually ten times the price, because of the number of A: jedi capping their skills with general melee through clothing and B: TK artists wearing only clothes.

well wouldnt the benefit of not having to purchase armor counteract that? and ive always disliked using armor attachments in real armor, with the decay...

You answered your own question. For me its more about style. I picked up TKA as a secondary prof to back up CM. One reason being defence which is needed for a healer now since we can taunt better then anyone els. The other being what othe profestion alows me to run around in my styling pink threads?

It most certainly is an option.

With TK armor (~6000 battle armor equivilent) and CoB, you easily hold out against anyone in PvP. The 500 extra protection you get from a player made battle suit isn't all that much considering the cost of replacing the armor. And although I haven't tested it, there is probably a diminishing return on armor protection anyway, so 500 is even less important

Like Marrstu, I'm a TK/CM and is quite effective in PvP, solo and grouped.

I like nothing more these days then pounding some one into the ground while I am wearing hot pants. Seriously...its fun...try it....its also a little distracting...almost like another form of defense.

Here are all the stats and actual % from armor

armor value / actual percent damage reduction

1000 = 10.5%
2000 = 20.0%
3000 = 28.5%
4000 = 36.0%
5000 = 42.5%
6000 = 48.0% <------Innate Armor for a TKM
7000 = 52.5%
8000 = 56.0%
9000 = 58.5%
10000 = 60%

Personally for me i dont like the look of any of the armors at all.....gotta roll in style

Having no armor is can work to your advantage (makes other players underestimate you) I have been dueling jedi, and hear a lot of “your not wearing any armor, but I am only doing 350 damage to you”.

its not too hard to use during large scale pvp.....i use a macro that sometimes buggers up.....but just watch your icon and when you see it start to flash stand still behind someone for just a sec and refresh it....

not too hard if you ask me

I've seen in a couple other posts where people have claimed thatduringlarger scale PvP, itmay be too confused to keep CoB going constantly. Just a general warning; you mightnot want to go buck wild in the middle of that 50 person raid.
