What do these do? Were they fixed or something in new patch? I have a TKA Master friend and he has about 30 Ranged Defence (Maybe more, not sure) And killing him is much harder than ranged fighters. Is it the Ranged Defence keeping him alive? Damage done to him seems less.

I am a master ranger Master TKA. I have +40(+42?) ranged and +40 melee defense. All I can say is that most NPCs and Creatures miss me a lot. I have no numbers to back it up, but it is not un-common to have a fairly high level NPC or creature (around Clvl 25) Miss me 8 out of 10 tries. It also depends on what their base to hit is. If I am out of ideal range for the weapon that they are using, and running away, they pretty much cant hit me. The actual damage reduction comes from the unarmed toughness, which is a decrease of about 57% melee in damage at master TKA.

But in conclusion, yes it does work, and yes it helps me stay alive.
