Thread: Changes to TK knockdown / dizzy on TestCenter
"Fixed knockdown/stun exploit with AI by clearing dizzy state on knocked-down AI when it attempts to stand"
How was this an exploit? If that's not the desired purpose of 'dizzy', what good is dizzy then?
Now when we knock something down it loses its dizziness when it tries to stand up? I was under the impression that the point of dizzy was to make something fall when it tried to stand up. Has dizzy been made worthless with that patch?
I think what he is trying to say in a complicated way is that the NPCs were heh.. "exploiting" and that has been fixed.
It post says "When it attempts to stand" I believe the way it works is when it tries and stands up, it still has a chance of falling over but when it does the dizzy is cleared.
This just stops people falling over more than once with dizzy.
I could be wrong though.

I don't know why the word "exploit" was used, but you've got it the wrong way around I think. The bug/"exploit"/issue was that NPCs that were getting hit with KD2 (which has the dizzy effect) were losing it instantly ... in other words it was broken on NPCs...

I think Selwynn has it right. I've noticed that NPCs instantly loose their dizzy state when they stand after a KD2. I believe they're fixing that.
Otherwise, yeah, dizzy would have absolutely no purpose.

Umm... it already works like that live, at least on NPCs and it sucks... it makes KD2's dizzy element totally worthless... you KD your target, then before dizzy has any chance to do anything, it's cleared.
I was hoping that they were fixing that problem, and I'm still not sure which way to read that statement.
This is just too funny. I wonder how they can put out such ambiguous update notes? The really might as well have said:
"Did something mysterious with knockdown and dizzy having to do with NPC AI.... figure it out for yourselves."
I'm fine with that, I stoped having KD moves being part of my overall stategy as soon as it was clear that SOE was not in favor of them.
