Thread: I cancelled my account....I have until Feburary to renew..dont see why I should right now!
First off I am 1-4-4-2...so I have gone up the Power and Balance enough to know if there is a difference or not. I was taking around 150 damage without VKs when I first hit my fist Power Technique...I was dissapointed to say the least. I know take about 300+ wiithout them and I have Master Power Technique....I dont know about anyone else, but this seems kinda trivial too me. After all the time and XP i spent I only get 200+% raise in damage after 4 Grinding Skill Sets? I really think the TKA damage should be more than this..at least 300% by the time we hit Master Power Techniques.
I am having trouble soloing Tortur Lairs...adn honostly I dont think I should have to depend on CH skills or Doctor buffs to be ablt to take on this low level creatures.
Also I see no real difference in my toughness at all...I know the devs say wea re getting +10 here and +10 there but I cant tell really...yes I am a little tougher but not near what I should be at Master Balance...I think it is peculiar that I can get incapped by White and sometime even Blue creatures....doesnt make thing very fun.
In the dev forum they have been talking about adaptive NPCs..this means that the NPCs will start attacking the Creature Trainer when he sicks his animal on something instead of attacking the animal...and ig someone heals you while you are in Combat then the NPC will attack the healer.....
Point is is that I really think that instead of making the game more fun and enjoyable(Ie...countering any and every advantage we have) they try to make it harder. Harder does not equal better! They think that if we have advantages we will get bored and quit playing...I am ready to quit because the game is getting too hard too me...not because of the content. I am getting bored of getting incapped all the time and laying on my back for 60+ seconds!
DEVS...you guys really need to pay attention to what we want...not what you want. We are the ones playing the game and too many people are saying the same thing..."Not enough damage, Skill Attacks are worthless, not enough defense bonuses" and yet you guys seem to turn a def ear!
I keep hear ing "well we need to keep it balanced" man you are going to balance this game into non-existance! After we have worked so hard for what we have only to get nerfed all the time balance is not the issue....you have NPCs that have 5000+ HAM and take more damage than I do and you call that balance!?
At my level I shouldnt be Balanced, I should have advantages over creatures that are white and blue to me...but I dont really. I canceled my account a month ago because off frustration and I have until Feburary to renew it...I havnt seen any reason to do so yet because the game is too hard to play solo!
Its Now Wonder Pc Gamer and Computer Gamming Magazines gave you guys such low marks!
I'm sorry to hear you're not having fun. Only two points of advice.
1) TKA is less than half your character. You shouldn't think of yourself as strictly a TKA. You have more than double that many skill points, and even though you say you don't want to depend on other profession's skills in combat, the game is designed to give you more than one profession, and you'd be missing out if you didn't use it. Why not pick up doctor skills? Self buffing and 1500 point stims is a fantastic way to improve the survivability of your char in combat. The tools are there, but you do have to use them. BTW, maybe you need some better VKs, my base damage at master level is somewhere in the low 500s.
2) If you're really not having fun with TKA, and you see no way to get around that, give something else a try. Personally, I'll always be a TKA, but that's because I like it, not because I'm somehow bound to the profession. Especially if you're already paid through feb., try re-rolling a totally different character and see if you can find the fun again. It's a huge game, with lots of opportunities.
Barring all that, sorry to see you go.
I appreciate the advice...but once again I dont want to be forced into anything! I am a CH 3-2-2-3 and TKA 1-4-4-3 and all the TKAs are either Doctors or CHs......We are Forced into these catagories. Because we arent as we should be.
As to try another profession, I already deleted my Rifleman because they NERFED the T-21 rifle right when I made Master Rifleman, right when I finally got a T-21 rifle....you wanna talk frustrating! Also, I should not have to change professions just because the Devs have no desire to make melee professions whatthey should be...my enjoyment and fulfilment of my profession and character is the responsibility of the Devs, not me. If they can't make TKA and other melee classes what they should be then shame on them, they deserve to loose customer base because of thier lack of concern for what the PLAYERS want.
It is Content, Content, Content. Not "how hard (balanced) can we make it!"
Once again I reiterate.."It is no wonder PC Gammer and Computer Gamming Magazines gave you huys such low marks!"
uh, i'm not a CH or doc.. i'm tka smugglar.. accually i just have novice smugglar. I made master tka solo, without buffs or big tanking pets.
Sounds to me like you don't know how to play a tka. Half of it is having fun, so you failed there as it is. Only problems i have are with PvP, but i'm fairly new to using a brawler in pvp so i'll give it time till i can learn. Only thing i can tell you is to either accept tka as they are, or lower your expectations. Paying for this doesn't let you dictate what your character can do, that's the dev's job. You only get 2 options, pay and play, or don't pay and don't play.
I'm not saying you shouldn't voice your opinion. Just saying you shouldn't believe that they will listen just cause they have you money. As Padme said in ep1, "You assume too much."
Mate, you deleted your rifleman because the rifle got nerfed? And they refuse to make the TKA all powerful so you cancel your account? No offense, but I think this is the wrong game for you.
I have seen lots of posts from you wantingmuch more power. I think single player games are best for you, where you can be very powerful and not on the expanse on anyone else. Because if there is no balance, then the expanse will be on other persons.
I am very happy with the TKA right now. It does what it is supposed to do. It can go in melee range, and hit things for very nice damage. On top of that, I can meditate and powerboost. Very very nice. It shouldn't be able to do everything, but it is ok because we have a lot ofspare points to make what you want out of your character.
i'm very close to master tka, and im master ranger. there are tons of rangers who are tka's, so don't think that doc/ch + tka is the only viable combo
there's gunfighter tkas, there's combat medic tkas, there's commando tkas, there's dancer tkas, there's even a CHEF tka on starsider.
the bottom line is that you should do what YOU want to do, not what a bunch of other people are doing, not what some guy on the forum says is the 'absolute uberist'. if you don't like the way your character is going, then change it!
i was a gunfighter/ranger long ago (been a ranger forever heh) with a little ch. i got so tired of how easy it was to kill creatures way over my level with my gsp tanking for me. so i changed my char. i dropped ch, finished marksman, and tried bh. oh my, i was a bh for about 20 minutes before i decided that it wasn't for me hehe (i didn't want to be an elite combat prof that i could only afford 1 skill in, and i wasn't going to part with any ranger skills). so, then i surrendered bh, pistol, and carbine trees, and tried being a riflewoman. it was hella fun, until the *prone bug* (where you go prone and get warped up to 40m away) finally drove me mad. i was so miffed that i was going to quit the game. i took a few days off, and when i came back, surrendered all combat skills entirely. i was just tired of fighting, so i started a life of non-combat. that's right, i became a musician. i played in all the cantinas and in high tech camps outside the towns for a couple weeks, before the overwhelming abundance of afk macroing entertainers put me in a very sour state. you think it's annoying being a patron in a cantina with all afk entertainers? try being in a band where you are the only one that's actually playing. so, once again, it was time for a change. and i ended up here, practicing teras kasi. am i the happiest camper around? maybe. will i change professions again? probably.
the moral of the story is that if you don't like the way things are going with your character, then you should change your character. don't get all in a tiff because the class isn't exactly what you think it is. try a different class. there's so much possibility in this game, so many options, it really is a wonder that there are so many carbon copies of each other. xeo, you seem to be a carbon copy of other *popular* tka builds. if you are not happy with it, why don't you just try something else before you run off and quit the game?
Steege,
or whatever....Yes I as a paying customer do dictate how the game evolves or did you miss that in economics class. This is a capitalist society not a socialist one....those with the money do dictate otherwise the organization who is selling the product has no financial support!
It iscalled supply and demand....if enough people like me dont like the way the game is going they will loose customers and thier business...so YES I DO DICTATE!
And it is Play or Dont Play not "Paly and Play or DontPlay and Dont Play" what you said was four options not two!
MYNROE SAID THIS:

Once again point made for me. It is amazing to me how some of you guys support what I am saying and dont even know it. WHat you say was easy for you (to the point of being bored) is not easy for me. I cannot defeat high level creatures like you because once again the Devs have a love affair with ranged professions.
I dont know any TKAs that would make such a bold statement as too how easy anything is! I will say once again I already went though one character and he was a Master Rifleman....how many characters do you guys wnat me to try before I finally get forced into Ranged combat.ie...Gunfighter, Commando and the like!
"No Wonder PC Gamer and Computer Gamming Magazines gave you guys such low marks!"
You guys havnt told me nothing I havnt heard yet or that will convince me..if anything you guys are contradicting yourselves.

I appreciate it dude is Blaksstar you SWG name? I would love to hook up sometime..while I am still here anyway.
It looks like there is a happy ending to this thread after all! Well, I'm glad you found something worth doing Xeonus. I, however, will be leaving at the month's end regardless and not on account of the game (PvE) being too difficult, but rather too easy.
I just finished MTKA w/ an Alt on Bloodfin and it was ridiclously easy - heck, I just AFK'ed in an aggro mob nest for a few weeks and I was Master. Too easy. Now I just run around and spam KD+Dizzy on everything and it rocks - lots of fun yes, but again too easy. I played a Master Doc/Combat Medic on another server and had to stop there too. I could solo a Krayt Dragon w/ a Rock beetle pet and myself. I had no problems killing anyone in PvP, heck I even took Commando Flames and laughed. PvP was fun, but too easy. Either it was kill, kill, kill, or against another Dr/CM kill, die, kill...and that's it. The repetition really killed me. Quests? Forget it, I can do 'em all. And the quests I can't are only barred by "bugs." On a particular outing w/ some mates to take an opposing faction NPC basem and after clearing all the NPC's, we get to slicing terminals which after a few slices are unable to continue. Referring to the website to insure we're correct on order, we are, we have an opposing faction PC run all the way out to reset the base and try it again. Same result. Mission is too easy and not even rewarding. If I'm not challenged I'm not staying. If I have nothing to work for, what's the point in paying?
When all the points are spent, each character will be able to do most of these feats provided you're not a DE+Chef, but any of the combat/medic classes most definately. So after you've hunted every creatue, done all the missions for famous NPC's and gained however many faction points you'd like (60K+ for me), what then? PvP sure, buy more stuff sure, but what are you doing? SWG handed the players everything they wanted. From the "I want to be able to solo" to the "PvP is my life," "leveling is too slow/hard," "I hate losing XP/items from dying" and even the "I just want to chat w/ friends," SWG gave you everything! Look at the game concepts. Everything is in the game is based on the most common complaints or feedback from prior games...most eveything. The problem is, when you get everything you wanted, it turns sour. I didn't like the time it took to lvl in EQ or the XP loss: SWG lvling is easy, you don't even have to be there! Just macro (built in!!!) and don't worry about dying, you don't lose anything! DAoC was all groups, few classes could solo efficiently, SWG any class can solo and if not, there's pets that anyone can obtain to be able to. Shadowbane, great concept of guild/faction PvP, but no end-game, SWG: PvP if you want to, when you want to and NO PENATLY for dying (Asherson's Call).
I'm not bitter, and I don't mean to flame, but this has to be said and should be over and over to the devs. I'm quitting b/c this game gave me everything I thought I wanted, everything that made games seem enjoyable, everything that I wished would be in a game. SWG has made me appreciate other games so much more and I'm thankful for that. It's early into the game's life, there may be updates in the future to give this game it's edge back, but until then I'm going to look at SWG as a true lesson in gaming.
Now I know what I want.
