Thread: What are the best status changes?
Depends on what you term tought mobs.
Pre-master I ground Xpsoloing Giant Baz Nitches gaining 4kxp a kill and was able (with some dificulty) to fight two at the same time. This is just to provide a point of reference.
What DO you consider a tough mob?
It would be refreshing toask a questionwith out having someonetake pot shots at you.

Tougher than normal kimoglias (enraged/dune/giant/whatever), high level Canyon Corsairs/Mercenaries/Nyms, Nightsisters and Singing Mountain Clansmen (non initiate), Rancors, and probably a few others that I'm forgetting.
intimidation has (approx) 30 meter range.... Thats pretty nice.
How often does it land for you. Ill look into it a bit more. Like i said it was failing 4 out of 5 times for me when I orrigianlly experimented with it. and durring that period I just stand there and get tge snoggins nocked out of me.
Yes, it does fail a lot, unfortunately. Recent patch notes indicated an increase in its success rate, but I haven't noticed any change. Intimidate1 has limited usefulness for multiple opponents because of this. By the time you get two, or three if you're lucky, intimidated, it has already worn off the first one or two. The significantly longer duration of Intimidate2 helps with this problem.
We all have our favorite opening moves.
My personal is /KD2 /unarmed blind /unarmed stunn. This dizzys, blinds, and stuns my opponent giving me a defensive AND offensive edge. Then I just goto town.
I went to a melee tourney and saw a lot of intimidation being tossed around. my personal experiments make me think that intimidation isnt worth while, but then thats me. at least 1/2 the contestants in this tourney where using it.
What do YOU use for an opening move and why?
Intimidate and warcry make for good PvE openers because they are ranged. I haven't PvP'd since our damage was reduced in the last "big patch," but I imagine warcry would be quite useful, followed by an intimidate shortly before the warcry wears off.
If you aren't seeing a need for intimidate in PvE, then you aren't fighting tough opponents. Intimidate is the difference between being hit for 2000 damage and 200 damage.
Did a little experimenting tonight. It didnt fail near as much as it did durring my test period. I noticed the failier being about 3 out of 5. Also noticed I didnt stop fighting while attempting to intimidate.
As I wasnt actually tanking however I have little revelent data on damage reduction etc.
Also seemed to last 30 seconds or so. Noticably better than durring my test session. My target seemed to be 100% stun and blind resistat and highly KD resistant,so it was rather nice to have something extra to toss in.
