Last night was the third or fourth time this has happened to me. I'm TKM, Swords 4441, In a group pounding Blackscale guards on Kashyyyk. CoB up, PowerBoost up, some blob candy and a neutron pixie to keep the action regen going.
And my mind bar is falling with each swing of my sword.
Got to the point that I couldn't continue fighting - 100% action bar, zero mind.
No negative state effects on me (at least, none that showed up on-screen).
Stowed the sword and went bare-knuckles - same thing, but drained my mind bar even faster.
Is there some teeny mind cost involved in brawling? Something mostly unnoticable, but with the -20% mind regen penalty from the neutron pixie, stacking up on me?
Or am I just f*****g bugged?

I ran into this last night while doing gurkies. I wasn't using any food/spice or powerboost. I had to heal several people in the midst of combat (a considerable amount of healing as half my mind bar was gone) and then all my attacks were drawing from action and mind. After combat ceased though I didn't notice this again.

All attacks use some action and some mind, its just a question of how much. Swordsman attacks use more action and not a lot of mind. TK attacks use more mind and not a lot of action.

Huh?
My TKA attacks use TONS of action. They also do use some mind, but I always run out of action WAY faster than mind, whether I use a sword with sword attacks, bare fist with TK attacks, a sword with TK moves, or bare fists with sword moves. Either/any/or, I always drain action far far before I drain mind.
The only exception to this was last night when we got caught by about 12 yellow mynocks on Lock, and I was healing every 10 seconds, until I ran out of mind. Well, that makes sense, healing takes a lot of mind. But TKA? It takes some, yes... but FAR more action than it takes mind.
And it ain't just me... My group-mate was also a TKA (TKA/Pike) and was draining action faster than I was (in fact, he asked me what I was doing to keep my action from draining in 3 or 4 moves the way his was -- my answer, I alternate between a "real" special and the basic attack move).

Ditto
my action as TKM is much higher then my fencer weapons, Almost to the point that I really can't fight effectivly without really limiting my special use.

I was only asking my guild last night if there was any food you could get that would give you a mind boost - it's daft the way it is. I am TKM and almost Master Doc - in the midst of combat, I sometime have to take all the aggro myself to allow the hunting team to survive - and it gets close sometimes... After a few bacta spray to heal everyone in the group, I then have to concentrate on myself. Bacta jab, infusion, then spray, and keep this going for as long as possible and hope they kill all the mobs before my mind goes altogether. I have all the buffs, food, drink & spice I can use and it still is not enough. When you have 5-6 Pickets nibbling at you none-stop, and they are each doing 121 dmg each, it doesn't take long before you can no longer stay alive.
A drug / boost would be fantastic - something that you can only use perhaps once every 10 minutes, so it does not get abused.

I don't see this happening on my character at all.
My action drains way fastbut my mind bar is fine.

LOL, glad it's not just me. I was wondering.
I definitely run out of mind if I am bacta-jabbing myself and others a lot, but just using TKA moves, with or without a sword, I do not lose much mind, and certainly nowhere near as much as the action I lose.

My TK specials use action only.. but since i'm Doc also all the heals use from my mind pool..works great for tanking. damage (action) -- heals (mind)--.

I noticed this last night on the Rryatt trails when soloing at the lowest level. A small but significant amount of mind was used for each TK attack.
As I'm also CM, mind is quite important to me for healing. It wasn't long before I had no mind or action left and I was using Blob candy and Booster Blue (+mind regen/+action regen).
It's annoying that mind regen's so slowly and that TK attacks (especially Combo attack) uses action as such an amazing rate.

Yeah, I've pretty much thrown away all my crates of Pixie. As I have healing in both of my character's templates, hosing my mind bar regen is just not an option. Booster Blue is the way to go. Here's my normal regimen of buff foods. I'm working up a TKA/Swords/Doc build on my main, and having loads of fun with it. This is a fairly common combo, I understand. Here's what I've been doing...
For grinding:
Food: bofa treat, blob candy, spiced tea (+100 to health/action/mind regens for 1 hour)
Spice: Not really needed for grinding
Doc: Nutrient Injection, Serotonin, Endophin (30-45 mins of extra health, action, mind)
I don't even bother to Powerboost when group grinding. I never really get in any trouble anyway, even when tanking multiple cl82s.
For Dueling/Big PvE:
Food: Breath of Heaven, Canape, Pikatta Pie, Crispic. (+650 health, +200/+250 action/mind regens, +70 melee accuracy, +50 Dodge)
Spice: Booster Blue (+20% to action/mind)
Doc: Nutrient, Serotonin, Endophin, Adrenal
TKA: Powerboost
With 1500pt heals and a crazy good mind regen, COB+Pikatta running, 4300 or so health, acceleratted attack speed, heightened accuracy, its just SICK what you can do. Slap on the SAC-pupped Katarns and go make things cry.

ive noticed this too. last nite and just now this mornin during pvp i watched my mind bar drop signifigantly with every melee special i did, which was a considerable pain in the arse considering im a cm and a lot fo my offense + healing myself and group comes from the mind pool.
i hope its a bug and not some stealth change. its horrible
