Thread: SM or pike?
Personally, I went M.Pike. My good buddy decided to go M.Swords. And after countless PVP battles since started traveling the galaxy overt, I would have to say they are pretty even templates.
The M.Pike will give you a better tanking ability; warcry is amazingly useful in PVP, and intimidate will severely enhance your standing ability.
The M.Swords will give you better damage capability; the power attack & critical strike are phenomenal at scoring some huge damage hits on your opponent.
If you choose M.Pike, I would suggest also taking 0030 Swords for the Advanced Armor break; this is vital to PVP success.
If you choose M.Swords, I would suggest also taking 0030 Pikeman for the Intimidate and Warcry; these also play a vital role in PVP success.
If you don't have the points to do the above two suggestions, I would probably say M.Swords will be your better choice, simply because the armor break coupled with critical strike/power attack/head hit are more substantial than the Intimidate and Warcry.
Every time I duel my buddy, who is TKM/M.Swords with my TKM/M.Pike template, we are pretty much an even match. Although I usually end up winning simply because he is less experienced in PVP, so it's possible that his TKM/M.Swords template has more potential.
