Thread: Katarn knuckles elemental damage broken?

Ok,I have both the Katarn knuckles and the Necrosis nightblade. I have best damage slice, 1 speed slice and 1 crit hit slice on both.I ADK'd both as well. WhenI use my knuckles,I do less damage than whenI use my nightblade. How doI tell if the elemental damage is working on the Katarn Knuckles? I use the combat tab to see the damage, butI never see any "elemental" damage being done. Iread all these posts saying that the Katarn knuckles are the best TK weapon out there, ButI just don't see it. I can't remember the combat level of the animal I was fighting, but whenI used my knuckles compaired to whenI used the nightblade, I did 800 damage with the knuckles and 1000 damage using the nightblade. I am on the Valcyn server...is this server still elemental damage broken??
Also whenI fight rebel npc's on rori, rebel out post,I critical hit using my nightblade for over 2000 damage..

match the total dmg shown in the combat log with what flies above the head

Turn verbose chat on and it should show how much elemental damage you are doing. (ctrl-O and then the magicaly CHAT tab of doom)

If I'm not mistaken the Necrosis hasa higher starting max damage, however, I honestly see no way that the Katarn shouldn't do more damage than the Necrosis, both are kinetic damage types and the 120 cold elemental damage should make up for the difference in damages. If you do further testing and find out more information please let us know, your situation really is rather puzzling.

mt katarn has a better dmg output per second that ive counted then the necrosis, so i never use the necrosis

I have both the Necrosis Nightblade and Katarn, tier 4 speed slice on the Nightblade with 761 max damage and Katarn with tier 2 damage slice (bio-linked accidentally before doing tier 3) with 743 max damage/120 elemental, vs level 81 Nightsisters my Nightblade was doing 486 melee hit vs Katarn doing 668 melee hit, I was shocked and I ADK'd my Nightblade...

Mine works fine, too. Don't know why yours wouldn't... Knuckles of katarn have better sac, too, don't they?

My problem wasI didn't see the elemental damage being done.. I turned on "verbose" from chat and then found exactly what was happening during each battle. Thanks to you all for your help. The Katarn Knucklers indeed was doing more damage, due to the elemental "cold" damage. Yes it has 5 less sac points than the nightblade.
