Well I've read the boards and heard all the talk about these guys and I'm sure it's justified BUT..

Two nights ago while in a cave waiting for spawns, someone asked me to duela guy hanging in the caves. The dude didn't want to at first but said he would, but after this was said he started getting more cocky. He eventually dueled someone else in the cave and DBed him saying the guy was being a **edit**. I was fairly annoyed at t his point and decided I would challenge him (still no plan to DB though). I was wearing my master commando tag at the time so he said that if i tried to flame he planned to DB. I had no intentions of losing but I figured since there was no water near I'd lay off the flame for a friendly duel and picked up my vks. Well, the fight started and my initial KD missed but I attempted one or two more and I knocked him to the ground (but dizzy didn't land unfortunetly). I then took a couple swings trying to dizzy him but he got up before it could hit, he then puts a warcry on me so I dropped back for a sec, healed then jumped back in using some UAH3 on him and with me somewhat close on my bar, he drops to the ground incapped. Heh, it wasn't until after this that he told me his class' and how surprised he was that the KD landed. He then told me that he was the one to "invent" that combo heh (who knows). Either way we talked a while about stuff and he has a passionate hatred for commandos and only a slightly less one of TKA. Anyway, we fought for a while out there and eventually his excuses faded (I think it'd been a while since he'd lost a duel).

summary.. IT CAN BE DONE!

The most important thing in any duel between melee characters is landing Warcry at this point. You can try to hit KD first but with with def against it so high now your chances of sticking it before you get dizzy and lunged is slim to none. Get some bioengineered clothes. Warcry will stick 2 out of every three times its used. Once you stick it pummel away.

yeah i've already got the bio clothes for it, and even though I didn't warcry I still beat him (with him landing one on me). He got caught in his own spam of hits so he couldn't heal himself while i healed once and went in for the kill once the warcry was done.

I hate smacktards.

Heh i've seen those. The one I faced was a Master Fencer/Master TKA with the trickshot tree. **edit** that was the hardest duel i've ever had. Lasted well over 3 minutes eventually I emerged as the victor. Being a doc I could get rid of all my status effects Blind, Stun, Dizzy etc. During the middle of the duel I switched to my armor. 80% kinetic resists with ridiculous encumbrance. After that it was over.

sound like some people in dathomir on bria server who just go there to duel anyone and spam that they are looking for a duel... if you accept they basically lay down 'rules' that guarantee their victory.

when i got tired of their spam, and planned to DB their arses for it, it went like:

ok, no flamethrower (i had expert commando tag)

ok i say.

no KD and Dizzy.

ermm.. ok.

no running around

(sigh) ok.

the guy then takes 'distance' of about 20m away from me.. so i knew he was some sort of ranged class. duel starts... he begins spamming eyeshot (which of little effect to me since I had my 50% PSG on and my tkasi buffs had my mind at 1500), i know he'd run if i charged. so I simply lobbed an HPBC into his chest, fight over. in one shot.

the flood of complaining began when he stood up, since duel hadnt ended i walked over to him, kd'd an dizzy and flamed him.

he incappe'd with half his ham bars black and DB.

silly wabbits...
