Thread: TKA Guild?
Hey, McFly!
The Teras Kasi Order (http://www.teraskasi.net) is a cross-server PA which does not yet have a presence on Scylla, so the TKO moniker may be available on you galaxy.
Being a Guild Leader can be a heafty responsibility and isn't suited for everyone. You are interested in at least trying your ideas ingame, so I say go for it. You will deal with interpersonal issues among your members - and those are the one's I hate because there is always a 'loser' involved in the outcome. You are also likely to get some members who are unbelievably self-centered reaping the benefits of being in a guild while returning nothing.
Your guild should have some declared purposes and unified themes. One will most likely involve senior guild members and TKm training initiates in skills use and levelling them up. If you intend to form an RP-heavy guild, you should define faction-alignement and whether your guild will support or ferret out FS characters and NPCs.
It is rare for a class-specific PA to have a long life, but SWG seems more accomodating than most MMORPs for this goal. With players hot on unlocking their FSCS, and changes in profession interests over time, you should consider how restrictive you will be about non-TK characters. Add to that the upcoming release of the Space Expansion which would certainly drive a lot of players to developing Pilot skills (presuming this will be a new class included with the SE), and you again must consider whether you will allow non-TK characters in the guild.
Member flux is always an issue with guilds, and in SWG it seems there's a member turn-over avery 30 days or so. There's a lot of head and heart work involved in running a PA, so I wish you the best in your venture, and encourage you at least to try.
