After reading through www.teraskasi.net(great site), i came over this:

"Credible information on Teras Kasi is scant and scattered, steeping the actual history of Teras Kasi in mystery. The Star Wars Role-playing Game (SWRPG), originally released in 1985 by West End Games (WEG) and now supported and produced by Wizards of the Coast (WotC), makes first mention of Teras Kasi. However, it appears it has been the SWRPG players who created the "history" of Teras Kasi, not the game's producers (I'm working to verify the facts on this)."

Maybe its just me, but I find it strange, that role playing fans made it up! Actually I belived TKA, was something deep thing that George Lucas, made in his idea with the Darth Maul character!

I heard some people on the board, whotalked about Darth Maul being a Teras Kasi Expert, which made sense, sinse he had some cool acrobat moves inThe Phantom Menece, aswell as kicks(He almost kicks Obi-Wandown, from abridge)!

But when I read this info, it makes me question, aboutif Teras Kasi should be more than another way of killing things.

I have always loved the idea on the TKA board. The dark side version of TKA idea was great. Aswell as peoplewho suggestioned, diffrent stances and fighting styles, and some even Elite elite TKA proffesions! And that the generel fanbase of the TKAthought that TKA was less generic and booring than a Swordsman. That Teras Kasis were a part of an ancient order, with a code, of honor or something like that. Their meditate skill(both animation and effect) Made them uniqe.

But withsuch loose info on the subject about Teras Kasi, is it even a good idea that Teras Kasi, is a "Way of life", as the Teras Kasi trainer describes?

Do you see or think that TKA should or should not be, "An order"... The followers of Palawa and all that...

Or should it just be another way of killing things?

Please because im confused! If this is all made up by fans, it seems a bit strange, don't you think? If it's not official. I mean... I certainly wouldnt go down and buy a book about Starwars that didn't had some kind of Starwars Licenes on it. It's the licenes by the original artists we love right? Or am im mistaken... Is Starwars just a big Shareware-every-writer-for-himself story, or is it George Lucas-one-man-tolkien-style-world that counts in the end?

Allot of questions... Yes...Debate... Or debate not... Please don't flame

there's a star wars book almost dedicated to teras kasi, so i doubt that they came out of nowhere, also in the star wars worldthere are some ppl dedicated to melee contest's, such as swordsmen pikemen and fencer's, so allthough we mainly see blasters and sabers in the movies, there are some ppl in that universe who battle it out in melee.

there are references to the twins (sisters though i do not remember their names) who are TKMs. they are hired by the empire to kick this arse or that.

the players did not make up Teras Kasi or its history, however there IS a lot of fan based information about it because it seems Lucas never really expounded on it much

The first ever mention of Teras Kasi was in Shadows of the Empire with two characters who work for Black Sun as assasins and commanders, these two characters were Zu and Zan Pike. Teras Kasi wasn't actually created by George Lucas at all but by a freelance writer called Steve Perry who worked with Lucas Films permittion back in 1996. The history of the order and the art was only brushed upon briefly in the book and the subsequent official source book that is used to help the many P&P RPGs detailed it more thoroughly mentioning the history of how the order was created following a conflict between the first followers of the dark side lead by a fallen Jedicalled Xendor. It wasduring this time known as the Great Schism that the Bunduki left their homeworld and created the art of Teras Kasi. During the conflict some of the followers were exiled from the order and joined with Xendor against the Jedi. After this time what we now know as the Sith was formed when followers of Xendor's teachings left the Jedi Order and took control over the Sith homeworld and soon became known as Sith Lords. We all know what followed then.

Now the Great Schism is a well documented official event even covered by starwars.com, its clear that Steve Perry used that information to create this new but ancient martial art which was derived from the Force. The events of what happened within the teras kasi order was however ONLY elaborated on for the Masters of Teras Kasi game in 2001.

Put simply folks, SOE could write the history of Teras Kasi and make it almost anything they want as long as Lucas Arts gives them the go ahead. I'd love to be able to give you quotes from that damn soruce book however there isn't any online version so you have to rely on what some of the more official P&P RPGs tell us that it says.

Actually Teras Kasi is more like the Shao-Lin teachings which encompass peace, philosphy and control over the mind and body. As we all know the Shao-Lin monks do practice some very potent martial arts both unarmed and with weapons, I can't be sure but I think they were the creators of the originalKung Fu. It's not about competition or combat, it's about spiritulism.

Guess what? "Role Playing Fans" as you put it are the ones to combine Star wars with a D&D environment. Do you find that crazy too? You think lucas sat around playing star wars d&d?

Relax mate, im not bashing anyone.

I just find it strange. Then compare it to other elements from SWG that was not introduced in the movie.

Take Nym... Yeahh.. The lok dude from the Jedi Starfighter games...

Of course it makes much more sense to put a video game character that many people already know about in the game instead of an martial arts style made bye role playing fans!

At least you could say that nym was created with the golden Lucasarts brand stamp!

Thats all I was saying.... Not bashing anyone, so relax...

what we really need as Teras kasi artists is for a teras kasi to show up in a movie so people will shut up about TKA not being a part of star wars

so whose with me

TKA in a star wars movie?

Was this post a good idea to begin with?

Sure sounds like a more creative 'nerf cry' by a whiny creature handler.

Teras Kasi are not 'used' to hunt Jedi, their order was created to police them. The only Jedi which a teras kasi hunted was the ones who were or had already fallen to the dark side.
