Taken from the following thread today 8/15/03

http://forums.station.sony.com/swg/board/message?board.id=Development&message.id=335830

"We're looking pretty closely at the knockdown situation right now, and are exploring a couple of ways to adjust it. Once I have something that seems decent to us, we'll toss it out there for comment."

-Raph Koster, Creative Director

Now what my thought was is this:

Why not jump on Test Center and get some TKAs on there. I'm sure there are a few but given the percentage of TKs vs Ranged and other professions on live servers and the small population on TC...well you can see where I'm going with this I hope. The more of us that have a presence on TC, the chances of discovering potential problems before they make it live increase. I find it hard to believe that no one on TC tried to knock anything down in the past two weeks and ask themselves, "Hmmm, where'd my HAMs go?".

I'm not saying that no one asked that but if there are a few more voices there to ask those questions, things may work better for all of us.

Just a thought.

You know how much time you spent on getting yourself up to TKA Novice right? Ok, good. Now, go do it again. This time no VK till you HIT TKA Novice. Yeah right. No thanks.

VKs weren't available on my server until after I made TK Student. Leveling to Master Unarmed isn't bad without VKs.

Why join the Empire?Because chicks dig Stormtroopers!Watch Jedi flick!
"Today's SWG Patch Notes: Found where people were having fun & removed it."
"Teras Kasi are NOT lethal, NOR nearly impossible to knock down or unbalance."
"Facing an opponent armed with ranged weapons, high-level abilities DO NOT enable him or her to evade blaster fire and close in quickly, bringing his or her enemy swiftly to the ground."

Thats a good point.. I didnt have any VKs until halfway through Advanced.. but still im not sinking all that time into a new server just so I can have a 2 weekahead glimpse of the horror to come.

Hopefully we won't have to. In some of the dev's posts, they have mentioned that there needed to be incentives tossed out to get more of a player population on the test server. This could possibly include copying over our main character.

Not ten minutes after I posted this topic, the TC server went down.

There's some sort of evil, twistedforceat workhere...

On working up a new char: Yeah, it sucks for the most part but in two days of casual play I'm 3/4 of the way to Expert Unarmed. Oh, and I came to TK from Pikeman and didn't even use VKs until I was just about TK Novice. (could I have any more acronyms in that last sentence?.... )

If they agree to move my character there temporarily I would. It takes too long now to become TKA Monk now.

Actually a TKA came and posted here after the nerf hit test center and he gave a really good detailed report on it. He broke it down by the numbers. I wish I could remember his name.

Ever since that thread we have been pleading with the developers NOT to implement that nerf live because it was a class killer. Two weeks later... The devs implemented it, a GIANT f'you to our profession. Either they didn't bother to listen to us, or they got some sort of twisted joy out of what they knew would happen to us.

The fundamental problem with that statement and their entire process is that last sentence, "...what seems decent to us..."

They are still under the mistaken impression that what they want means jack squat. They are not the customer and their opinions are irellevant.

Thanks for that info linzen, I must have missed that thread.

hmmm, makes me think differently about using TC at all. What's the point if they don't think we, the people playing this profession, know what's good or not good for us.
