Doesn't anyone parse combat data here? Someone has got to know something....

Yes toughness stacks with armor. toughness lowers dmg by 1% per point. So as a master tka I have 57% melee dmg reduction from toughness.

I think how it works with armor is the unmodifed dmg is lowered by 57% each time I am hit. The reduced dmg value from toughness is then lowered by whatever % kinetic resist my armor is plus the light armor bonus since almost every mob has no peircing to their attacks. In pvp the light armor bonus does not always apply due to armor peircing weopons.

Awesome Eltestor... thanks for responding! I'm going to attempt to verify through a little math... tough part is watching the whole "floaty" damage thing and matching it up with the correct hit on me.

With that in mind, is there a way to filter out other peoples hits? All I want to see are my hits and mobs hitting me.

Has anyone done a study to see if unarmed toughness stacks with armor? I looked at and posted on the "unarmed toughness" thread stickied to the top of our forum, but it never got answered. Just curious if anyone has done some compairisons unarmed + unarmored vs unarmed + armored, floaty number vs what is displayed in the combat logs, etc.

With this in mind, does anyone know a good logger for SWG so I can parse some dps etc? Also, how do you turn on the date/time stamp on the combat logs?

Thanks in advance!

I believe I read somewhere that the damage over your head, the floaty numbers as the poster so aptly put it, is the total damage to all pools. Whereas the damage reported in the combat log is the largest amount of damage done to any one pool. The color of the number over the head of the target generally helps in indcating which pool or pools were the primary recipients of the damage.

However, I am very unsure about the numbers reported by armor resistences. One would hope that they report the amount of damage resisted by the armor to the pool that took the most damage. So, if I get hit for 200 points of over head floaty number damage, and the number is mostly red indicating health pool damage, and the combat log reports that I received 150 points of damage, but my armor resists 30 of that, one would hope that it was always 30 to my most affected pool and not 30 action damage in this case.

There have I made that confusing enough for ya?

You can't really parse combat on swg because what get's reported on the combat tab and in the log file isn't really the damage that is done.

Yeah I figured it would be difficult to accurately parse data in this game. I am just using my chatlog for the time being to conduct my experiments since that gives me the location of the hit (when you wear armor) and the high damage.
