I am working to master tka but i have no clue what class to go with it. I've heard of doctors, commandos, rifleman and this list could go on for a while. I would like to know what you guys went with you're chars so i could get an idea or two.

Thanks in advance

Rifleman + Ranged Support or Master Doctor would be best. Also, a pure brawler is very awesome.. all those defenses stack except toughness. Commando is a waste.. you have to be within 16m to do real damage; lunge has 15m range and you miss a lot less. You'll be leaning on that FT crutch so much, you'll forget how to fight

My dream character is a brawler built for defense using TKA for offense.. but I know I'm gonna love it, so I'm gonna do all the other combat professions first

Master Rifleman seems to be a good second profession for TKA's. Also, if you can find a good doc who knows what he's doing and can make Stim D's with Medical use +40, then all you'll need is Pharm IV to use them. You'll heal yourself and pets just fine. One thing I did was get the dirty fighting branch of Smuggler. Panic Shot (delay shot) was pretty cool for duels, delaying them for a few seconds and allowing me to melee them to death. But with the recent nerfs they miss half the time. Also, the LowBlow shot is cool if it doesn't miss as well. LowBlow is a KD pistol shot for those attempting to kite if you're caught out in the open. But since they miss half the time, I'm thinkig of surrendering it all and use my points elsewhere.

Recently I asked LoBai a similar question you're asking here. He said I shouldn't worry about being the biggest and baddest. Just get professions you enjoy to play with and leave it at that. On one hand I couldn't agree with him more...on the other hand, I do enjoy being a big bad ass

Master Doctor is a very strong compliment to TKM. CH is also a very good addition if you have Medic as well (I'm TKA/Master medic/CH using Graul Mauler) and I'm virtually unstoppable in PVE. I haven't done PVP yet (have two more boxes of Meditation to go) but I've been told both combinations are awesome for that. Personally I think I'm going to go Doctor since I don't want to lug around a pet all the time.

I used to think the same way as Orson. I started CH but surrendered it completely. Non CH pets are sufficient for me to go PvE. And in PvP battles, there are likely to be more than a couple of people in your faction with pets. So why would you really become a CH unless you just enjoy pets?

I am a TKM/MCH with pistol 4,and med novice for heals.Let me tell you those pets have saved my hide in plenty of pvp fights when the kiting starts.I had rifle but droped it because my mind is very important andrifle specials use mind. ihave heard Doc is a good combination and i am trying to develope another kasi with Doc skills. But like i said having the pets is a bonus. Just remember if the target is moving even if it says he is in range you are more likely to miss, and they won't. We do need a stick command but maybe that would be asking to much.

I am not a dark jedi.
I am not a light Jedi
I do not see the light or the dark, it is all blended into grey.
Balance is the key, without it we would not be in harmony.

When we grey jedi get acknowledged then the real fight will start all of you upstarts will fall and balance will be restored.

well first off i would really really take at the least novice medic for healing..stim b's can go as high as 400 per heal as ive seen. and if you get pharmacology 4 you can get great stim d's made that heal 600-800+

next off is the question....are you a pvper? if so i would take a gunline....some smuggler dirty fighting would help with there panic shot and there ranged kd in pvp..all the gunlines are awsome...but i warn you rifleman and carb take alot of ham

do you like fire and making missions and FP missions easier? take commando...get a novice ch pet..let it run in and flame on!

do you like making money besides missions? take ranger.....you can harvest and track the great harvest's from each shift and sell them....check your galaxy forums on people wanting to buy certain kinda of meats, hides etc from each planet

theres so much things you can do ingame...you just have to find the one that suits you best....be it making armor.....to dancing in the cantina. just dabble in stuff and see what you like best. good luck

I can see Snkg's point. Again as I said however, you can still use a Cowardly Gurrek with a HAM of 3500 (Non-CH) to go attack someone to save you in PVP. And if you find yourselfon more than one occassion needing more than one pets with seperate commands to attack seperate players to save you in PVP, you may need to find another group to raid with. In the end, I personally find a cowardly gurrek to be adequate, and I haven't wasted Skill Points to do CH. But to each his own!

Master Dancer

Before you start laughing, realise a couple of things.

First, I have a very diverse character with myMaster TK / Master Dancer. When I tire of beating the crap out of things, I can spend time socialising in a cantina and vice versa. Alot of players have one dimensional characters and get bored with the game and quit. There is more to this game than grinding, missions, and combat.

Second, master dancers get combat benefits. With a plus 7 to both ranged and melee defense, dancers get a better melee defense bonus than master bounty hunters, master carbineers, master smugglers, and almost as much as master commandos.

Third, master dancer is a great title to use when you go into pvp. What better way to make your opponent underestimate you?

Lastly, My character is great for soloing. I never need to rely on another player for any type of healing. I can meditate my own wounds away and dance my own bf away. With powerboost, i have my own buff, and if they ever let dancers do a self buff, I will be a mighty force to be reconned with.

Yup! I've got myself a fun character.

This is a two-edged sword.. First, you can migrate stats so you have maxed out mindpool and regen/action usage, which are good for both rifleman and Doctor... the downside, you're using the same pool for attacking and healing... I'm on rifleman now and about to give up.. Pistol caps out too early for speed and damage (not counting specials), rifleman is WAY too vulnerable, especially in close quarters of dungeons.. I'm thinking of going TK.. Already at 4/4/4/0 for Ranger, but I might drop back to 4/0/4/0.. With enough CH to use GSP's...
