Since becoming a master TK about 2 months ago I have made alot of friends with other TK moving their way up the tree to become Masters. I freely train people and go out of my way to help them with advice and training so ive become friends with many of them. But as I have talked to them Ive realized that many TK's dont know alot about how to be effective as a TANK. Now by no means am I the guru of this but this is just a group of things that I think will help you be a better tank in PVE. I hope that anyone else that has good advice I would hope you would add to this thread..... And these arent the only way to do it.

Note: I would appreciate no strategies involving pets, no matter how good they are...

1) Make a Macro that spams Intimidate. Why you ask? Intimidate is by far the one thing you want to debuff the mob with. It reduces the melee damage you are taking by a huge amount. Im not sure about % wise but its gotta be way over 50%. Why make a spamming macro?? It takes awhile to stick and you waste time each time seeing if it sticks. What I do is hit the intimidate macro and let the spam continue till it sticks. Then all you have to do is cancle the combat que to go back to regular attacks.

2) Make a macro to spam Stun.. Stun is not as effective as Intimidate hence why it is second. It tends to stick alot better on the mobs so you dont have to waste as much time trying to get it to stick.

3) For mobs that are yellow or below without an insane amount of HAM an awesome strategy to ending the fight quickly is to unequip the VK's and hit em with KD1 or 2. Then as soon as you are sure that they are down use your best specials with vk equipped and go to town on them. Most any mob will be dead in the next 5 seconds, and you will impress the heck out of your friends. Note: do not do this too often or no one will group with you. On a 5k exp mob if i do this the other members will get 300xp tops. This technique is awesome when you get additional mobs on a pull. If you get two or 3 mobs spam this special attack and take one or two out quickly.

4) When you are tanking the very big boys in PVE you have to wear good Kinetic resist armor. There is no way to stand toe to toe with say a Krayt without it you will not have a chance. Now granted tanking a krayt at this present time is hard no matter what. But with the right armor and using all the doc, food, and spice buffs you CAN do it if you get your debuffs on them asap. The armor and the debuffs are the key in my opinion the armor give you that few extra seconds to get the debuffs to land. Yes you will die sometimes, but how many other classes can stand toe to toe with a Krayt for any amount of time??

5) Max you mind and mind secondaries. If you want to be an effective tank you will either have a healer with you or you can use stim b's yourself. Docs can buff and heal any stat but those dealing with the Mind. The regen rate and the use rate of mind are also very important. Every little bit of extra mind might be the difference between life and death. The day i switch to maxed mind stats was the day I really started becoming a tank.

These are a few of my observations....They may be wrong you may not agree with them but they work for me. Anyone else that has some good advice please post it here and maybe we can help some of the up and coming TK's to their quest as a master.
