Well i have maxed my char god only knows how many times now and been just about every combat class at this point. I have recently gone to TKA to give a melee proffession a shot. So far i am having a blast ! When it comes to PvE i enjoy this class far more then any other so far. One thing that is deff a change for me, is getting used to being melee in PvP (Ex BH, Commando, Pistoleer, CH, Carb, ect trust me the list goes on).

So far from what i can tell in a raid we are pretty good. That is as long as we have ranged ppl to distract other ranged users from us. I notice there are times i will stand on top of a person, hit unarmed lunge and it tells me i am out of range lol. Even solo vs a ranged person at this point is still a challenge for me. Kiting is a new thing for me to try and learn how to get around and even in buildings i will still loose to a ranged person from time to time. If i miss my lunge or KD on the first try, i am normaly a dead man.

So far i am 2-2-3-3 and gonna continue to take it to themax. Like i said iam loving this class so far but man i have alot of work to do before becoming good in pvp once again. I have read that we are getting our range upped to 10 meters on some moves so that is a plus. Since from my exp the 5m that we have now just doesn't cut it.

Coming from both ends of the spectrum (ranged classes and now melee) I don't think the game is asbadly balanced as alot of ppl think or would cry on boards. There is alot of work to be done and some classes do have some killer shots (have now been on the receiving and giving end of eyeshot, stopping shot, head shot ect..). One thing is for sure though, i do agree with a ranged person who cannot kill a tka has no idea how to play his char. So far i have been shocked coming across even such classes as a BH in the open and watching him stand there as i charge towards him.

Anyway just posting this as my thoughts on this class so far, and was wondering if any of you had any pointers on what i could do to perhaps up my chances or survival in pvp. Thx

if they start to run duck in a building i know youwant to chase but get out of the open, the faster teh better at close quarters no joking you can take 3 bh's assuming you recover from a dizzy/kd or if you can KD2 them first. Also buy comp with electric layer LLC is a pain

I completely agree with you i think that tka is one of the most fun profession to be in SWG.

I am a commando/tka (i was a commando about 10 days before the patch came out, sad that i have to state this fact for people to take me seriously) and i find that I am using my TKA skill mostly when i'm in combat whether it be PVP or PVE. I find myself resorting to my commando skills less and less, ie only when i need that fast kill and when the situation is perfect (target is attacking someone else and is within 16m and doesn't notice me, and yes i do use the flamerthrower because it's the only viable commando weapon). Otherwise if i want to toy with my target (pvp or pve) i burst run (to avoid being kited) lunge, kd, warcry, dizzy and pretty much make them my bitch.

Same thing here, I ditched Master BH so i could get Master Merchant and follow my holocron's orders. Now that really hurt, I had only been Master BH for 2 weeks. So i decided to get TKA to give me some fighting ability, so far I'm 75k xp away from Novice, and even at unarmed IV i'm loving it, can't wait to get some of the better skills under my belt

Anyone who says that TKA can PvP isnt playing high-end PvP where the Pistoleers, Bounty Hunters, Carbineers, Rifleman incap you in 3 shots. No time to duck into a building or even get 20m towards opponent.

Not complaining, we shouldnt be able to win against that, Just saying dont kid yourself that we are even remotely effective in PvP.

anyone that gets incapped in 3 shots needs to go out and buy some armor. i have not seen a bounty hunter eyeshot me for over 100 damage, and it's usually in the 50 range.

Same here for me, I was a BH pretty close to master when I gave it up, why b/c I dont care what they say BH is like playing on god mode hehe and it gets boring. I have had so much fun as a TK its insane, I dont even care how good I am in pvp b/c I have fun now in the game and feel as tho I actually earned a kill rather than EYESHOT-TORSOSHOT-DIZZYKD-LLC everyone to death.

As far as fights ya def duck into buildings, as soon as I get to an imp town I duck into the cantina or run around near the starport as to have a place to duck in. Also dont underestimate the pwr of intimidate, it does half there damage and more importantly has a 30m range so it can swing the fight in your favor. Ive never really tried to use Warcry in pvp but if that works i'm guessing its like panic shot and delays there move. If anyone does use Warcry in pvp please post how well it works heh.

it was funny as hell to watch some rebels chase TKA masters into a house outside anchorhead that was private only to be added to the entry list 1 by 1 lol. i've never seen people die so fast

High end pvp

I like this game and run overt for some brawling with rebels players but there is no "real pvp" , the combat system is too much broken( pvp and pve in the same zone etc .. ) and I don't even talk about balance issue or class fix ( out of range 1m away etc .. ).

That being said, my personalexperiences against pistoleer, BH and commando were not so bad, powerboots, a shield, an armor, some stims and sprint ready help a lot. That when I'm alone. In a group we are as "effective" as anyone else.

hi there.

Warcry pretty much owns in PVP.. especially if your in a group with some ranged people..

you'll do the Warcry on a Commando .. and i assure you he'll do just that.. (cry )

as im also Master Brawler i have Warcry 2.. wich is 20 seconds deley.. and i tell you.. this is where it's starting to get fun first intimidate on em.. then warcry 2.. 20 seconds should be enough to land a unarmed lunge 1 .. so you can get close enough to land that KD2

Auto you dumb, TKA is very viabale in high level pvp you just have to use your head and get in range some how then any enemy is a goner,

Asol 3 shots and your dead?? Try armor and power boost buddy, an avenger can'y even three shot me wiht my 80% vs electric and 70% vs acid set up (unless the armor fails when i had no cloths on other then my defalt shorts and armor so i get one shoted) rofl

I hear ya man! I came from a large number or combat classes, (pistoleer, carboneer, commando, novice bounty hunter) I know this sounds kind of silly but i always enjoyed the animations of TKA. So a friend convinced me to ditch my current combat professon (pistoleer) and go TKA. This is gotta be my best choice i have made in the game yet! This is so much fun and it is so satisfying when you catch a kiter and inc them. And just a little encouragement, Wait till master and it gets 10x better then you have now. And dont worry about missing your kd now, once you get kd2 and unarmed hit 3 it takes two hits.

The idea of the TKA is to be sneaky... or my idea of it is...any way welcome to the TKA
