Thread: What determines mission difficulty for a TKA?

I am wondering the same thing.

I am not as advanced as you are yet. On Naboo, by myself, I get leve 8 missions. If I group with my two CL 16 Kusaks, I get level 20 missions. Just for fun I tried grouping with my sugrgical droid, and got level 6 missions.

My missions did go up one notch from 7 to 8 when I went from unarmed 2 to unarmed 3, so I am assuming they will keep going up as I get new skills, but I have no idea how fast they will rise, or how high they will go.

If I remember correctly missions usually go up by one level each box you gain in a combat skill tree.

In TKA it makes no difference, even meditate line increases the mission difficulty even though you combat skills do not improve.

Something has gotta be borked though when it comes to grouping. Grouping any given pet with you should not decrease your mission terminal calculated combat class. Should only increase it.... perhaps in the case of surgical droid little to no increase, but never the less increase not decrease.

I think the logic behind dropping mission levels when you group with a low level pet, is that you are going to have to spend more time keeping it alive than fighting the mob, which makes you a less effecient fighter than you would be if you didn't have the pet with you.

What really seems strange to me is that I can do vynock missions on Talus for 1800 credits each andzero risk (no experience either)while on Lok I can only do langlatch missions for about 2400 credits each and much more risk (not that the langlatches are tough, they're easy, but the creatures around them can be nasty). Seems like the Lok missions should have more reward considering the greatly increased risk.

I am currently 0-1-1-1 TKA, 4-0-0-0 Brawler, 1-4-3-4 Doctor, 3-0-4-0 Scout, 1-0-0-1 Artisan and Novice Entertainer - on my way to eventually becoming TKM and master doc. I don't quite understand the way that mission difficulties are calculated. The missions that are available to me on starter planets are all way too easy (mostly critters that are 1 or 2 hit kills, like durnis). I tried grouping with the only petI have (a jax) and I get even lower level missions. On advanced planets there seems to be a big gap between missions available, for example I can get langlatch (too easy) or pirate (too hard without a tanking pet) missions on Lok but nothing in between. It seems like Iam able to get missions thatare much more suited to my level when I play my ranger/CH/pistoleer character, even though my TKA/doc is as advanced or even more advanced in skill trees. Do youneed touse a gun or high level pet to get good solo missions?

First of all your level of combat skill is what primarily determines how the missions are calculated. That being said on the starter planets your entirely correct the missions are too easy. In general most mission terminals always seem to give missions that are fairly easy. I'd say the faction missions this is even more noticeable.

So the higher you go up the TKA tree, the higher the payouts ought to get. There seems to be situations in there where in fact you can lower your combat status. Grouping seems to calculate along slightly different lines. I've noticed too that when I group with someone lower level than me, or a low level pet, the payouts do in fact get smaller. Where I would think the addition of another player would increase our total effectiveness, this doesn't seem to be the case if in fact that player is somewhat weaker.

Advanced planets is about your only hope for getting missions that are"tough". Dathomirfor example you'd find it pretty hard to solo any given mission a terminal gives you from Dath.

*not that it's not doable *
