Ok guys.. I am a very new TKA. I been asking other TK masters and aspiring masters alike.

I keep getting very differnt answers to the question: Leveling up as a TKA, Should I wear armour? If so, what type?

I get LOTS saying armour is no good for TKA because of the HAM costs of our specials.

I get a lot saying yes armour, but go Adv. Ubese.

I get a lot saying yes armour, but go Adv. Composite.

Please help!

Well here is my Advice to you ,

The reason you got all the dif answers you got is becuz we all have different stats to begin with , and we all fight in dif ways.

let me explain,

A good set of Armor , be it Ubese or composite ( you want high Kinetic resis BTW ) will make the damage you take and reduce it according to what the armor stats are.

but while wearing armor , Stats like Strength,Constitution,Stemina, Quickness , Willpower and Focus will be severly reduced!, that said it basically means your regenration time and the cost of HAM specials is very high .

Now ,

If u decide to wear Armor make sure u have the highest possible setup for sec stats ,

also bare in mind that while wearing armor you can only heal urself few times before your mind is drained , since HAM cost is Increased, so if you are going to use specials and heal yourself a lot in a fight you might Incap yourself B4 the creature incaps you. That said a good Adv Ubese Armor or Adv Chitin or Adv Composite can have resis of up to 80% on special protection which is kinetic for Ubese and chitin .

a good kinetic Armor woiuld be anything in the 50%-60% resis area , using that and a few specials will give u a better chance .

Now if you will not wear Armor u can maybe take more Damage , but if you set ursecondary stats high enough ,

you will be able to heal yourself and regen very fast to make to the end of fight.!

so basically try both , and see which is to your liking.

Bare in ming that wearing armor will get wounded faster .

Or you can do what I do. I use breath of heaven to prop up my stats while armored then I don't worry about things like secondary stats.

equip/unequip doesn't go into the combat queue, so its pretty tricky to get it to unequip before using the special then reequip after...

Personal Shield Generators offer armor at no encumbrance. Even if the resists are not very good AR1 halves the damage taken by AP0 attacks - which most creatures have. The things will burn out fast though, so it is not a cheap solution. It works well when you use them for harder fights, or when that intimidate just don't want to stick, or that add arrives out of nowhere, and stick to unarmored for normal fights.

personally I have a great set of 55% Adv Chitin and a PSG. This takes huge damage off me and has a very low HAM cost.
