This is my favorite thing to say:

If you're gonna quit this game because it resembles EQ2.. go for it. I'm betting the devs won't care. I've never played EQ2, so I don't know exactly where everyone's hatred is coming from.
THE ONE REASON I PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!
Its STAR WARS. I would have played EQ or EQ2 or WoW.. but I'm not into that kind of Environment. I play any game Star Wars. If SOE wants to make an EQ/EQ2 clone, they have EVERY right. This is *THEIR* game.
I like every aspect of the Combat Upgrade. For your guys suggesting mastering brawler with TK, NOTHING IS STOPPING YOU!!!! You're only making the grind harder on yourself. Just do Unarmed 4, do two handed 4, and live with it. It doesn't have to make sense. Why is the Earth round? why are we here? what is the meaning of our existence? The question "why 2 handed" is really just as pointless to ask as "what is the meaning of life"...think about it. boo hoo I need to get one extra tree from Novice Brawler.
Be happy you can still drop profession WHICH BY THE WAY, I hear you can't do that in EQ.
The only cons of the upgrade are:
Can't Master 3 Elite profession.
WHINERS who made up their mind before trying it. (which by the way is my biggest pet peeve XD)
For the whole armor thing, if you wanna wear armor. wear armor. you'll just lose some other defenses that you have WITHOUT armor. THE POINT of this "no armor" dealy-o is this:
It's unrealistic. for example, the Unarmed Hit 3 animation. love it. HOWEVER it is COMPLETELY and UTTERLY unreal to be able to perform this action in a set of BULKY armor efficiently. (speed and or damage wise)
First off, this armor looks like real work to just run in. much less jump around sporadically throwing punches and kicks.
Okay...I think I'm done.

Little addition...tested armorbreak unarmed last night. I think there *should* be an animation, and there is a message that comes up saying if it works or not, but the message's borked, and if there's an animation I didn't see it. I was so hoping for my stiff-arm routine *pout*

Cant answer your question, but I have to tell someone how stupid this game has become...
Well, not all is bad, I like the animation on the commandbar and the new animation on char. First It looked alot like wow, and like a cartoon, and not the cool smooth clean the was the swg before the CU. But that I can get use to. What I cant get use to is that im a tkm and they sould be good at avoidace damg and deal moratede damg. HA!, you cant even kill one mokk or janta if you are not lucky anymore, and if there are two or three, then you are toasted. And soloing a lair ,forget about it, never gonna happen. And why do we get 4 time xp on eu-chameria, when you have to get cl 78-82 when you are cl 80 you self. Anything uder that give 4 xp in any proff you are using. And u cant kill anything solo:-( that are at cl 80, so compleat waist of time, , and center of being are way to weak if it does even work, and you heal way to slow. The mokk or animal heals much faster then you, so u cant even heal and kill it after. And how does it come that advancde combo are weaker then melee strike, gives no meaing, and neither does the extre xp, cause you cant kill anything with tkm. And all this is only about tkm, dont get me startet about BH. There is no meaing is this. And the frs grinding are out of order when the 4xp are on, good going there soe, you only take it out becasue we get dobbl. xp and you dont want us to lvl faster in the frs, and wiht the serversetback on eu-chimera a weekm, alot have lost xp in frs. I know that you can make a ticket, withs I have done, but I got a very cryptic answer back. Wiht all thees mistakes in the game now, the 4xp does not give any meaning, specially when u can respec two elite proff, why do you need the extre xp, when you cant use it on the frs trees nor the elite proff.
Beside I have spended over 7 mounth to becomming a jedi, had to holos before the jedi revamp, half way I tought, but no!. You have to spend alot of more time becoming a jedi now after the jedi revamp. Fine, I said, I do that. Now I just need frs reflexes ranged and melee defense, and because of the CU, I have to spend even longer time before I can get xp in them, expecelly now after the CU.
And now there are no point in being tkm or any ranged, because mokk/jantaer and lairs can kill you from a long way. Yours ranged are shorter than there. Hope all thees things are being fixed soon, and it would be great if they did before the 4xp runs out.

did not have the time to read thru all these so will ask my question here - I thought that as long as a TKS did not wear any armor their defense stayed, but when I equip a hammer I lose defense - so which is the armor mitigation tied to - armor or weapon type?

Why not condense one hand sword and two hand sword into the same branch then add a Brawler branch with extra specials and the like like what they do for Marksman skills???

What happened to all of the TKAs cool fight animations...no we just get to jab and kick. That was one of the main reasons I worked so hard to be a Teras Kasi master but now the CU has messed it all up.

Someone know when they want to fix the big bug with "Force of Will"? i mean this bug is known since the Combat Upgrade and they didnt fix it. Why not? it cant be to much work to bring out a little fix so that it works. Everytime i fell incap i miss it.
