Shinjo, thats what the /stick command is for, i.e. similar to the server-side one from DAoC.

i'm familiar with the stick command and i've been asking for it in various threads for a while now. TKAs do enough damage right now, but the problem is being able to hit them while they're running around.

"I didn't want to suggest scout or ranger traps effect PC or NPC's (although i think they should) because a range user could then pick up those traps as well. My personal opinion is giving any melee class a speed increase changes the game for us in PvE as well as PvP which is not good as far as I can see."

I think this should be restricted to Ranger traps personally. We are supposed to be getting military range of trapping devices; you'd think we would have the tools to disable or hinder someone with traps. It would add an enormous element into PvP that both Melee and Ranged could take advantage of.

This game currently is all about direct damage to a person. For me that's why it's kind of gotten boring. People will want more intrigue and viable combinations over time; why limit something that everyone can choose or not choose to partake of? Rangers really have absolutely nothing going for them - camo kits are nice but really are fluff at the moment. Tracking could be fairly useful when refined, but they really need something that allows them to stand out as an Elite profession.

I have an interesting new problem in PvP. So I hit a guy with KD2. He goes down and I should have an easy incap at this point. Then his corpse slides away........ "Target not in range". He gets up and kites me. I'm fine with the limitations of a melee character. I'm going pokeman master...err creature handler just to compete (why shoot someone when you can send a 10k HAM missile at them?). When I get close enough and actually land a KD I shouldn't have my target slide away from me. So basically it's the fudge factor that kills melee in this game. I don't know if they'll ever overcome their poor, shortsighted programming to make melee viable without some sort of range support skills.

And to the guy that said Commandoes should be left alone- wait until 40% of the PvP populationis a commando (at this rate that'll be within a month). Once they all start hitting each other with that flame shot- DoT- wound you to heck shot they'll be crying for a nerf themselves. How they ever allowed fire to get in the game with no way to counter it I'll never know. The wounds don't bother me too much as a TKM but the fire that never goes away does. Don't even get me started on BH eyeshot....

Ok so i'm here reading all these post about how TKA need something to close on ranged guys(n girls) in PvP and PvE.

I like the idea about giveing use more passis moves that work with ranged and melee attacks on us, and i like the idea about makeing our max range with our weapon of choice bigger.

This stick command every one wants is just dumb use /follow works well for me. if you use that and increase our make range and thats all we need.

One more thing i would like is for all fightingclasses. one weapon that only a master can use. i don't can what you call it i just think that when you reach the master of a fighting class you should get a weapon of some kind.

Oh onemore thing i forget to mention, TKA is Not a Elite Class. Commando's and BH should out dmg us. all you need for TKA is 92 skill points. and thats mastering it.You can then use rest of the skill points (all 158 of them) for other things. like scouting to get some terrian negotiation.

ok done now.

The kiting issue is a valid one. My personal respoce to it would, either, 1.) make us faster, not by much but enough to count. 2.) make something that keeps our distance consistant to the target's, so we dont lose ground after we have gained it. 3.) up the range of all attacks. or 4.) (my favorite) make a grenade type of throwable item that would cause the stutter step like when you get a new target when you are using a carbine or rifle. Being a former carbineer (note the spelling is correct here as opposed to in game) I know how irritating that stutter step can be, and allows a following player to gain anywhere between 5-10 m on you. I don't know about the rest of you, but i think something that woulf just disrupt the targets running pattern for 1-2 seconds would be good enough. After all, a lot can happen in 1-2 seconds.

And I finally made it through reading all the posts on this thread, and I found the comment of "never bring knives to a gun fight interesting. In my thinking, knives can be much more deadly than guns when the conditions are right. When stealth needs to be maintained, you dont go charging in with an automatic weapon, and actually when you have the element of suprise and maintain it, knives or trained hands can take down many more enemies than can a machinegun. It all depends on the situation.

Back to the issue, upped damage is ok... I wont complain about it. Defensive moves... ok. Just fix the real problem... the server/ client discrepencies. After thats fixed, I think many of our problems will be solved (i.e. out of range.(half the problem with the kiting issue)).

I am wondering why TKA's have to get more xp than any other perfession to lvl up , we pretty much suck if the guy is running . So ,why is it so hard to become 1 . Should we not get something special for hanging in there to get this profession . I was a master pistoleer ,and I did not like that , so I gave it up for the skill that was going to do in the first place TKA. It is taling so long to get there and is hard to get chacing everything down , like I do. We need over 100K to fill 1 block for god sake , so for the people who say we do not need more , Think about how much work we have to do to get into this profession . We should be the best in the game. It takes the most work to get.

Personally, I like the fact that it takes some people a long time to get TK Master. Then the title becomes a real badge of accomplishment.

I'd honestly like to know if Pikemen are getting anything fairly soon. I.E. within the next patch as we're getting. Their range is still 4m and they miss until they master. Their powerful weapons are not worth it since you really just help your opponent kill you faster.

I'd rather not see another TKA update until the other melee classes are fixed. Really. They've waited long enough.

Devs,

There is only one question you need to ask yourself right now: are we providing a fun a environment that will keep people forking over their hard earned cash? What I see right now is pages and pages of pissed off people that will soon stop paying you, andyou can add me to that list.

I know there are things happening in the game that you never anticipated, and there will always be. I don't know what your visionwas for TKA, and I don't care. What I care about is that I after almost 3 months of really hard work to get close to master TK (3 4 4 3) I got my butt handed to me by novice dancer with a CDEF because there is not one f*%$*& thing I can do to stop her... not one. There is no strategy, no weapon, no ability that will allow me to stop the b*&^% from running so I can use my "overpowered" bad a^% to kill her. You can raise, lower, do away with costs and weapons for TKA, and it still won't matter. The way it is right now, TKA ranks just bellow a non-ch pet. Yes, I no longer get incapped by a wynock, but that novelty wore off a long time ago.

Of course, a commando is having a blast, running around with his big a#$ flame thrower, single handedly taking out AT-ST's and the entire Drall VS. CoreSec battlefield (both sides, I've seen it happen), while suited in composite armor from head to toe. And I have to worry about killing myself because I used a lousy 122 max damage VK? Oh, and I better make sure I can camp after the first durni, because I'm just fodder for the second one that showes up.

Wheater you like it or not, this is the way it is! No amount of argument or convincing from you as to the way it was intended, will ever change that. Tonight when I logon, is will still be that way. So please stop feeding me your excuses and you opinnions, and make a choice:

1. Admit that things didn't work out the way you planned and anyone choosing to become a TKA, will from now on do so knowing exactly what to expect.

2. Admit that things didn't work out the way you planned, but fix it, and give TKA a fighting chance.

I know I have also have a choice, but the vision of a game where everyone better be a commando or face some serious frustration does not appeal to me. I'm sure that my subscription will not make the difference between your succes or failure as a company, but in an small way it will take away from the realization of your goals. There have been many good suggestions on these forums that you can start with if you're out of ideas. If you want more specific input I can provide that, and I can provide a few solutions also. But you don't need that, I'm sure you have the brain power needed to comprehend our frustration and disgust. And if you don't, then please walk a mile inour shoes. I bet that if you create a character on any public server, and nurse that character up to a TK master, myself or any other player that has made their frustrations known on these forums, can come in with a brand new character and kill you. And at that moment you will realize how useless all that super cool meditation and powerboost was.
