Your gloating is not appreciated. There were FOUR original TK's consisting of myself, Icefalkon, Jenii'ca and Cloud on this very server, waaaaaay back early in beta. Just a useful piece of information.

(now try to bare with me when I say these words) YOU ARE FULL OF $HIT!!!! neither you or your guild had anything to do with ANYTHING in the development of this game in ANY way, so listen up Al Gore jr. The only thing you and your guildies contribute to the game is you're $14.95 you pay a month to play. The people that you say were the first TKM's in the game after launch may very well be the first onse but to say you guys are why we have VK's is a bigger lie than Bill not sleeping with Monica was so don't even try it
i take it you are so self absorbed with my response to you that you didnt bother to read Taigei's posts? (Taigei is one of the people i talk about in the initial post) also making presidential campaign analogies is great (for 2 reasons) for psychoanalitical reasons i will keep the first reason to myself, the second reason is amusing as i'm british and i pay no mind to american government members propoganda (although i am aware of the Al gore statement, this isn't even the same scenario...), oh and incidently i pay sterling not dollars so my modest contribution to SWG is only $10.
oh and in answer to the al gore thing it was a british person Tim Berners-Lee that *invented* the world wide web (more trivia for the unaware)
in addition i'm smart, i'm witty and i'm like teflon on message boards, you either love me or hate me, but my initial posting was a selfless mark of respect to those that had worked hard to make the TKA profession one of the best in the game.

He wrote the HTTP protocol, developed the URI (now called URL) and created the first browser which he called WorldWideWeb, and built the first web server. For all intents and purposes, he did invent the WWW.
This doesn't stop British Telecom from claiming a patent on Hypertext and trying to sue the entire world. Megalomaniacs.

Well first off, konik Thanks for the info. I have played in Bria with konik and he knows his profession well. And he as shown me somethings I did not know, and actaully made the profession more fun for me. He as also shared this same history with me. And that's what it is history. For those of you that thought he was gloating, you are mistaken, for he does not present it that way. So relax people!

I can see how it's not clear that the timeframe was Beta from the original post. To clarify, we're talking about closed Beta 3. Krayts appeared about halfway through closed Beta 3 (maybe a little later) . Corellia, Tatooine and Naboo were all in place at the beginning of Beta 3 and most major systems were working to one degree or another. Someone talking about standing around on a bare Tatooine was talking about Beta 2.
The claim about the VKs is that I had posted a critical assessment on the failure of TKs and Brawlers (except Trandos) to take down even cons compared to other working combat classes, and attributed the failure to the fact UA/TK had no weapons to increase and vary the damage output. It was the only post on the subject at all. So when VK's appeared in game as dropped loot some 7-10 days later, it was clear that they were the dev's answer to the UA/TK problem with taking even cons. To understand why I attribute my post as being the motivation for the devs to create a weapon for UA/TK, you have to understand the community environment at the time.
The devsrelied heavily on us totestand suggest - that was our role - and classes which players weren't testing and commenting on did not get a lot of attention. As Atama had posted earlier, for example, armed-melee in particular didn't get good attention until late in the Beta cycle, and it was some of the Betas who made a concerted effort to test and give feedback on those classes. Seriously -if it were'nt for that drive, armed-melee classes would have been nearlyunplayable in the live game. Since there were so few TKs in closed Beta 3, we were the only ones even able to test the class and give the devs reliable feedback (balance in PvE for UA/TK was my particular focus). Quite simply, I find it very difficult to imagine the devs having any motivation to include weapons for UA/TK (remember, theconcept of UA/TK was clearly unarmed)aside from the critical post which clearly attributed UA/TK inability to take even cons to the lack of damage increase and variablility they would get from a weapon.

I'd LOVE to see a list of credits which named the Beta contributors and their key accomplishments. Total pipe dream, I know. But if Betas don't talk about these things, who will?
No one will, probably. And, honestly, I'd be fine with that. I did my time in beta, from start to finish and continuing on to now. I did, and do, it for the game not for myself. When someone looks at the medical professions and sees good in it, I don't expect them to say 'hey, vortexala helped make this profession as good as it is back in beta'. I expect them to simply enjoy the profession and keep on playing.
I know the part I played, that's enough for me really.
Not saying you shouldn't be proud about what you accomplished or tell folks about it. Just think this thread started out all wrong and wanted to chime in about that. That's all

Oh...you're british...that explains it. you or your guild still didn't do anything short of nothing that directly effected the weapons, gameplay, combat balance...etc you guys might have voiced some opinions in beta but..... it's not because of you that FoW works the way it does and it's not because of you that we have VK's...when I say you I mean the people referanced in the original message. I'm sorry but I call 'em as I see 'em and I see this as BS...at least the part about the VK and FoW that you say we have you to thank for. As for the psychoanalitical reasons you have....I would love to hear this so why don't you enlighten us, or at least this self absorbed american that has to pay in dollars instead of sterling..please, I gotta hear thishear this one

Another thing I want to add is that taigei is right about something he said in his post and I would like you to look back at me original post about this...I wasn't attacking you and I'm still not but what you said is too outside the relm of reality to be believed...a couple of guys who are players did the things you say they did...I just don't think so. go ahead and keep saying you did but I won't believe it without proof which unfortunately there is no way you can provide that I can think of so with that I'll bid you good day 'ol chap and let this drop.
