Couple points to remember about fencers

- High level defenses against dizzy, knockdown, posture changes.

- High level dodge

- A CoB that works really well

- A weapon that can completely bypass nearly ALL armor. (stun dmg)

Taking these points into consideration, like a couple other posters stated, it's probably a waste of time to attempt kd+dizzy on a fencer. Sure there's a chance it might work, but the fencer will have had plenty of time to tear into you by the time it sticks.

Armor probably is a bad idea. Once a fencer pulls out the stun baton your armor will be completely negated.

Warcry, stun, intimidate I would agree would probably be your best friends against a fencer.

But even then, the fact remains you can't kill what you can't hit.

Intimidate slaughters master fencers.

Shape and substance day by day will vanish.
Hair and teeth will gradually fall away.
Always from the days of old men has it been this way
And none born can escape this thing.

Master brawler enhances any melee professions. The strategic use of warcry2 (especially used with bio clothing to bring it past +20 mod at MB to +45), thelunge2 and intimidate2 is hard to beat.

MB's/master meleehave an advantage over non-MB's/master melee.

Let me tell you a little story about a teras kasi master versus a "blademaster". This all happened on server sunrunner on the planet dantooine. I am a teras kasi master and i was having friendly dueling with teras kasi students and monks and whatnot. we got into the discussion of who would win between a teras kasi and a fencer. now i have a tremendous respect for fencers. you people are almost impossible to knock down and can kick the crap out of anything. but they are all very cocky. this one blade master came up, and told my friend that he would show him just how powerful a blademaster is. i stepped in and said, "he's only a monk, if you want to test your strength, try the master". so i looked at his stats and noticed 3k health, 3k action, and 1500 mind. this guy had no reason not to be cocky, so he challenged me to a duel. my first move was warcry, stunning him, then i had to try twice to knock him down, then when he was down, i used head hit 3 times and incapped him. then when he got up, he told me he would kill me some day and left. moral of the story is, the teras kasi masters can choose what posistion you get into, where they are going to hit you, and how long you'll be there for. the fencers are way to cocky. the fencers have the defense bonuses, so they are a defense profession. the teras kasi have all the offensive strength in the world. a lot like a goalie and a power forward going one on one in a hockey rink.

There is no Head Hit 3 in TKA. So Don't say that you won because of your tka skills.vcsbhgndfht

As i started going through my strategy for becoming an "uber" melee fighter, i instantly saw the advantages of TKA. The KD/Dizzy, the amazing toughness, the accuracy, and the meditation most of all. So I started out, and experimented a little in PvE and PvP. I was then 2/1/1/2 in TKA. The damage is high compared to any ranged profession at this level, but because of my friend's interest in Swordsman, which was amazing in PvE, I figured, okay if TKA is for 1/2 PvE and 1/2 for PvP, and swordsman is for PvE, and pikeman is for nothing, the Fencer must be PvP.

So I talked to a couple fencer's and a few TKM's. I was hearing about TKM's doing a max of about 4k damage when a critter is KD'd. However, manyof the Fencer's that i spoke to have only hit for about 3k or so.

Now this doesn't make much sense, but i just went for Fencer =P. But, first i decided to get Master Brawler. And so as i leveled slowly in Pikeman *yawn*, i finally got master brawler. There is one advantage to master brawler, well many actually...there is a KD for all professions, There is warcry 2, and Intimidate 2. However a little known trick is that if you KD/Warcry a critter it will stay down for about 15 seconds until the warcry wears out from when the KD sticks.

And so I leveled up in Fencer.

I am now a BladeMaster (Master Fencer) and Master brawler. And I will tell you that TKA is NOT the best PvP profession. I have dueled about 5 TKM's and beaten them all, without doubt.

If you wish to become ultimate in PvP, fencer is the way to go, not TKA.

Flexing your own muscles serves little except to get other professions to scream nerf. Your useless post served no other purpose than to stroke your ego. You were master fencer+master brawler. It wasn't a fencer vs tka fight.

Only thing I've learned from this post is that they both seem to be quite balanced vs each other. Poor pikemen...
