Valor, im sorry but the TKA has meditation and the ability to hit any 3 ham bars at will. that is a HUGE, HUGE advantage over any other melee class.
kinetic damage as limitation is a FAIR compromise. if you face something with high kinetic (or 100% kinetic) you still have the option of kd+dizzy, blind, stun, etc etc. you may not be able to solo it but you can get away. other classes will have to switch between their 1 or 2 damage types they have avaliable and they have to duke it out, without the benefits of power boost, without the benefits of being able to heal own wounds afterwards (gawd that alone is why i took up tka), without the ability to knock down a target (except perhaps pikeman, but heh, he'll have a 4 seconds delay time).
you talking about fair now? tka is utility heavy instead of damage type choice.
I'm ok with the damage types. Wouldn't mind seeing a DoT added. Maybe replace one of the combos with a kidney punch. Somthing that creates internal bleeding. I'd trade a lot of it for impressive defense. Guess it depends on the style. I still remember old Qui Chang Cain slowly and delibrately dodging bullets in a barroom, just to get close enough to grab the fool.

But seriously...anti-kiting?Kiting is the only thing to defend againt the KD/Dizzy Power of a TKA. Trust me, if you put that in, then people will cry so much more than they already do about the power of TKA, that you will get an even huger nerf than you really deserve.
Trust me, the blew up my CM profession, just think what they will do to yours.
Yeah the Combo 2 is really almost worthless. if you hit even a gungan you only do 1 point of dmg. so you have to sit there and spam Unarmed 3 just to do anything to them ![]()
I do think tka should be granted some kind of terrain neg bonus (all melee should), but nothing more then that. Like some previous poster said: kiting is the only way to defend against kd+dizzy. If they take kiting away, people will cry for nerf in no time (and will prolly get it!!).
ps: this dev attention made my give up CH and pick up tka
(already had unarmed 4 ==> master smuggler).

Terrain negotiation bonus wouldn't do squat. Most people have at least +40 in terrain negotiation, anything above +50 just allows you to crawl faster. It would take a lot of time to balance the kiting out, hopefully it's something good and that works.
In an old West End Games supplement for the SW RPG, there's an item called "Stun Gloves."

There is nothing wrong with the way the game is set up for PvP betweenTKA and ranged. Once again, aTKA is bringing his fists to a gunfight, and well...in reality, that's just plain dumb. Nevertheless, we've been given the tools to catch kiters already. Lunge 2 and Warcry 2 are the deadliest weapons in my arsenal. Each special has a 20 meter range and can be used ON THE RUN. I'm a Teras Kasi Master and Master Brawler, and Idominate Master Commandos and Bounty Hunters on a regular basis. By the time they realize what I am, they're already within that 20m radius and it's over--warcry, lunge 2, Unarmed Hit 3 while they're down, and it's DB time. So, for those of you that really want to focus on PvP and want to do it with a melee profession, you need Master Brawler. The ability to delay your opponent for 20 SECONDS and then knock him down from 20 meters away is the most powerful combo out there for melee. GET IT--USE IT--DOMINATE WITH IT.

We don't need new weapons and they would be out of character. Also, the kiting issue is just part of the profession. If we are given some advantage over kiting, what are ranged users going to get as an advantage over close combat?
