Nicely written. 2 points:

1. I do not agree with the statement that TKAs are less effective than pistoleers. We are, imho and ime, more effective in PvE. TKA, especially TKMs, do a ton of damage. Apart from commando I don't know many who can equal us if we go all out - i.e. KD2-UA3-UA3-UA3 etc. Even without VKs you are looking at 1600 dmg, +50% for the target being down, every second.Add to that a great number of state effects, and the ability to individually target every pool, and we are set.

Ranged users alsotake more damage as soon as they are in melee. Just look how much damage a simple nuna does as soon as your TKA wields a CDEF pistol and loses the benefits of his unarmed toughness.

2. I fully agree that TKAs should accept our single limitation - we are vulnerable to ranged attacks. People, forget about fiction, RL and everything, concentrate on the game mechanics. You can not expect that for a measly 92 skill points you get a uberclass with no weaknesses that can kill ranged attackers under conditions that favor ranged attackers - i.e. at range. Use some of the remaining 150 points to fix that weakness. Stop whining for anti-kiter skills - they are already in game, they are called ranged professions, or simply don't let yourself get kited - don't play "stupid chasing NPC-AI".

you sir, have no clue what you are talking about.

first of all, if this game catered to "reality" we'd all be dead after one shot anyways. eye shot, low blow, bodyshot 2, unarmed hit 2.... all of these things if applied correctly can easily kill a person.

a TKA master is one who knows the body. if he hits you, you're gonna feel it, a lot. if you get hit in the head by a TKA you'll be knocked out at least, or have your skull crushed if you're unlucky or if he's wearing knuckles.

the same applies fora dl 44, scout blaster, laser rifle or ganderafti baton.

so lets not let reality get in the way too much.

if you want to talk reality then a TKA should get 10x damage for attacking someone in PVP when they aren't looking at him. chances are you neck would be snapped in half if a TKA got the drop on you.

lets not even talk about if you're blind and can't see the hit coming or if you're dizzy. sheesh.
