Really great FAQ, I've started playing TK more (I was going to be a smuggler but...) and have had SO many questions - almost all have been answered now.

If you can, could you add an explanation of how defensive bonuses help TKs? like, if I kept my pistols and worked up the dodge bonus line, or if I got carbine counter-attack, or rifelman block, do these stats help me in mele when I have vibro's equiped? I realize this isn't strictly a TK question, but it's about the only one I have left unaswered

thanks

Just wanted to let you know, I am a crafter.. but this was probably the best guide I've seen for any profession. I was just curious of how everything worked, and I was really impressed. Good work my man, I'm sure you've helped many people out.

Alright guys, i tried out the macro while afk for a hour or so twice and came back dead. So i have been thinking of a way to make this more reliable and here it is. Get a pet! Ch or non, and teach it the attack command(a is what i use) and use this macro for unattendedattack

/ui action toolbarSlot06;
/pause 20;

a;

/pause 3;
/harvest meat;
/pause 1;
/ui action toolbarSlot07;

this will make it so if you run into something that takes longer than 20seconds to kill(for me with unnarmed III i kept running into rock mites/rock beetles),your pet(s) will take it out so you dont die. Enjoy.

Stand outside of the Cantina in Moenia. those thugs spawn at one spot all within your specials range and its safer than out in the wild.

Group with a pet and have it stay kinda far away. This way you get more exp.

/ui action cycleTargetOutward;
/unarmedhit1;
/pause 2;
/loot;
/ui action targetGroup1;
/ui action toolbarSlotxx;

(the targetGroup1 command actually clears your target so you're not trying to constantly loot an empty corpse or attack yourself if you use targetSelf. This command only works if you're grouped with a pet)

Doing the loot command makes the thugs spawn a lot faster.

I've added a couple of notes to the unattended xp macro regarding /follow, not using the macro against NPC spawns, and a tip about avoiding the out of range problem.

Excellent FAQ,

You answered all the questions I had as Holocron forced TKA Master (Just started), including some things I didn't know like bleed shot and how it works for xp.

This is by far the best FAQ I have ever read for any of the professions. Great job!

Yummy. The best way I've found to get TKN from UA4 is to use bleed shots on crazed durnis and dire cats/female dire cats on Corellia. Yes, it means you need to be a marksman, but getting pistoleer isn't that hard with a sliced FWG5. Hell, even using HS1 alone works pretty well. Ungrouped, crazed durnis are 319 XP (and you can usually take down 4 or 5 at a time by running around, bleeding them all, and letting them slowly die). Dire cats are 856, I believe, and usually go down to 1 health after 2 bleeds from HS1 and 2. Female dire cats are 500-odd XP. I've gone from 10,000 Unarmed XP last night to 65,000 XP now (and that was doing maybe three or four hours of the unarmed stuff).

So, yes, bleeding is your best option for progressing from UA4 to TKN. Then again, I don't have CH (but I qualify now. heh.).

Would a lil defensive acuity passively help a master swordsman counterattack more or do you have to be unarmed/holding VKs to discernibly benefit from it?
